[div align=\\\"center\\\"]WHO GOES TOP 6?
ESPN analyst Stephen Ass Smith weighs in on the first round of the NSFL's inaugural draft[/div]
Draft Order
1. Orange County Otters
2. Yellowknife Wraiths
3. Colorado Yeti
4. San Jose SaberCats
5. Baltimore Hawks
6. Arizona Outlaws
Orange County Otters
The Otters struck gold in the draft lottery, securing the first overall pick in the upcoming NSFL draft. Few people are bold enough to go against what is considered the consensus #1 overall pick in Josh Garden, and I'm certainly not one of them.
The team from Orange County enter the draft already having their long-term QB in place in the form of Anthony Petrakis, a mobile QB (with the second fastest 40 time of all QB's in the draft) who is sure to want his team to secure him a supreme talent to throw to.
In my opinion, Garden is off the board before the Wraiths have even taken their seats.
Yellowknife Wraiths
HOT TAKE: the Wraiths are going to draft an offensive lineman with the second overall pick in the draft. Listen up, people. Half the teams in the league have a RB and no QB. There are 8 offensive lineman in the draft, and only 2 are pure run-blockers. The Wraiths don't again until #11. Angus Winchester is going to be the second player drafted into the NSFL.
Colorado Yeti
Too easy. While the rest of the league are left scratching their heads at the Wraiths' pick, the Yeti come down from the mountains to snatch up Damian West, the superstar WR from the All-American Bowl, and the primary target for pocket-passing QB and franchise cornerstone Logan Noble.
West was hot in the bowl game, catching 4 passes for 97 yards and a TD on a long of 39 yards. He will be too good to pass up, and the Yeti GM's will hold their breath until pick #10 when they will hope to get a pass-blocking O-lineman to protect their franchise QB.
San Jose SaberCats
What do you do when you've got a gunslinger of a QB, the two best receiving options are off the board and none of the pass-blockers have been taken from the O-line pool? Get yourself a superstar RB to pound the rock and make the defense stack the box so that Mr Jameis Christ can throw bombs.
Reg Mackworthy, welcome to San Jose! The SaberCats will have themselves a situation not unlike that in New Orleans in the NFL with Adrian Peterson lining up behind Drew Brees - minus the fear of a sudden age-related implosion and the child abuse case (for now).
Baltimore Hawks
A change in GM? Rumors of a move to Canada? Talk about a volatile franchise. Everyone knows that young QB's need to be brought into an environment with stability and a good culture that is conducive to success if they are to succeed.
With that in mind, Baltimore (cough Toronto cough), say hello to the first bust of the draft: Vincent Draxel!
Draxel is a young pocket-passer style QB who put in an impressive showing at the All-American Bowl. He'll be joining star RB Marcus Robinson in Baltimore (cough Toronto cough), but even that won't be enough to prevent the mess of an organization that is the Hawks from turning him into the next coulda-woulda-shoulda.
Arizona Outlaws
The Outlaws are a team with a bunch of offensive weapons already. WR King Bronko was the leading receiver for the Bowl-winning Team 2, and despite his quiet day at the office, Brady Stropko looks to be a solid RB.
With an abundance of defensive talent in this year's draft, the Arizona GM doubles down on his all-out offensive approach and pulls the trigger on QB Ethan Hunt. The mobile QB out of Idaho State had the 4th fastest 40 time of QB's in this year's draft, but more importantly had an impressive if not overshadowed game at the All-American Bowl.
Completing 4/7 for 78 yards and scoring the team's only offensive touchdown, Hunt will be a formidable talent in the NSFL and will have the weapons around him necessary to have a big rookie year. With only one offensive lineman off the board, no defensive players taken and having the very next pick in the draft, the Outlaws will have no qualms pulling the trigger on a guy who can be their franchise QB.
Conclusion
You heard it here first, folks. A blockbuster first round is coming your way and if Stephen A. had a player in the NSFL, he'd be getting at least +6 TPE for his draft predictions.
Let me know in the comments, who ya'll got in the top 6?
