Today I have taken it upon myself to start writing a diary so that one day I may go back and reflect on all that has happened. But for this first diary entry we will not be talking about the future, but rather I will take this opportunity to remind myself of the past.
I was born in Bluefields Nicaragua. I didn't spend much time there as we were only there because my father was there for work. Not too long after I was born my family moved up to America and settled down in Cincinnati, Ohio. I grew up in the city of Sharonville, just a small City north of downtown Cincinnati. When I was in elementary school, about grade three or four, I begged my mom and dad to let me play peewee football. Eventually they gave in a let me play, thus starting my prolific career in football. I was on the red team from fourth grade up until sixth grade. I was a rather chubby child so when I played peewee football I started my days as the center. My father actually taught me how to snap a ball as he was a center in college and played for the miami hurricanes. I was a good center for being young kid playing peewee football. We did pretty well on all of our season from fourth to sixth grade. Never made the championship game but we always gave it our best. I can still remember going eight and zero in my sixth grade year. Going to the playoffs and being so excited. I knew right then with that feeling that playing football is what I wanted to do with my life. We went to the playoffs that year and played our hearts out. Unfortunately we lost our first game and our season was done. That was the end of my pewee playing career but just the beginning for me.
In Sharonville the school works from kindergarten to 6th grade is elementary and from seventh grade to eighth grade was middle school and from freshman year to senior was high school. After we lost the championship game it was still early in the school year of grade six. I told my dad I wanted to lose weight so he helped me go on a diet and workout schedule. Well by the time the summer came for between my six and seventh grade year I was pretty well of being in shape for only being a thirteen year old. I wanted to learn how to catch because I wanted to play wide receiver for when I got into middle school. I had received a copy of the middle school teams play book and I spent hours and hours and hours in my room studying it to a tee. Eventually I knew it like the back of my hand. Tryouts came later on in that summer and I went and tried out for the wide receiver position. I turned out to be pretty good and the coach started my in the slot position to start our seventh grade season. The eighth graders and the seventh graders played together so I thought beating out the eighth grader that was in the slot was pretty cool. We played ten games that season. And it was a fun season as I learned how to play the slot receiver position. We won our first straight 5 games that first season I played. It was amazing. But then the 6th game came and our quarterback got hurt. After that moment we didn't win another game all year and finished five and five on the season. Stat wise I did pretty decent. I finished that season with 5 touchdowns and 25 receptions. Never having a fumble and only dropping 2 passes.
