What is the goal of a PPT rework? Well one of the major things is to adjust TPE earning while still keeping a gap between people who are max earners and people who are more casual earners. The goal is to adjust a lot of the unknown TPE totals, such as milestones, season predictions, and mock drafts, and bring them to a point where on average you earn more TPE than has been in the past while still keeping it in line with current max earning possibility.
Season TPE Earnings
Note: Everything is assumed max unless otherwise noticed, so TPE values will vary.
NSFL Training Camp: 10 TPE
DSFL Training Camp: 10 TPE
Point Tasks: 15 TPE
Weekend Point Tasks: 10 TPE
Ultimus Week: 10 TPE
Mock Draft: 12 TPE
Predictions: 28 TPE
Season Predictions: 12 TPE
Milestones: 6 TPE
Equipment: 32 TPE
Weekly Training: 40 TPE, assuming a season is 8 total weeks (1 preseason week, 1 postseason week, 1 offseason week)
Activity Check: 16 TPE, using same weekly training assumption
Absolute Max: 191 TPE
Using max TPE earnings this leads to 191 TPE available per season. Of course, a lot of this is absolute max which is almost impossible to reach, such as mock draft max, predictions max, season predictions max, and the fact that most players don’t receive DSFL Training Camp TPE or 10 TPE from NSFL Training Camp. For the sake of the rest of this I’m going to work off the absolute max. Expected max earning is more around 140 TPE to 170 TPE.
Training Camps
The first thing to look at is the Training Camps. NSFL Training Camp has always bugged me, removing one TPE per season has never made sense to me, but with how it was setup originally, I never had a chance to change it outside of a full rework like this. The total TPE you’ll earn from the NSFL Training Camp is 55 TPE, spread over 10 seasons. My first goal is to change this so it front loads it more, meaning you develop faster and slow down over time.
With the new NSFL Training Camp we see no TPE change in total, the only TPE change is the way it is distributed itself. If you make it out of your Tenth Season the TPE ends, just like it does originally, although we haven’t seen that yet with Season One players still receiving the NSFL Training Camp TPE. The only concern that people may have with this is that people who are in Seasons 3 through 7 are going to be shorted TPE due to the sudden change. As such anyone who is in one of those seasons will be able to claim the TPE difference listed in the chart in the next Training Camp post. As for the DSFL Camp I have no changes to make to that, I like the boost it provides early on and see no reason to tamper with it.
PTs
There is only one change I have to make with the Point tasks as we know it. Starting with the new update the new deadline for PTs will be Sunday night, moved from Saturday night. That’s all for this method of earning TPE.
Weekend PTs
Weekend Point Tasks are receiving a massive change. First thing is they will no longer be Weekend only. The replacement will run from the same time as regular PTs starting next season. Next the Task itself will be changed to a Trivia task for Season 10, as a trial run. The Trivia Task may be changed in the future depending on how it goes, but for now we will be running a trial of it with more details once it is completely nailed down. The total TPE earned from it will be 4 TPE, 1 for completion and 1 per correct answer, with 3 questions per week.
Ultimus Week
No planned changes for Ultimus week. Another task I like how it is right now and don’t see any changes to be made at least in terms of TPE, Deadline, or anything similar. Ultimus Week is fine right now as it is.
Mock Draft
Probably one of the more drastic changes without completely removing it, Mock Draft will still run for about a week leading up to the draft, but the changes don’t come from the deadline. First the TPE given will be moved up 1, from 4 TPE to 5 TPE. This gives it a little extra TPE without too much added on. Next the TPE earned is going to be moved from 8 total to 4 total. There are a few reasons behind this change. First thing is that with the ability to leak draft picks easier those who interact with leakers will be at an advantage, while everyone else is still left out to dry including those who receive average. This also brings TPE earning closer, with only 4 TPE total to earn as extra average guys will not be hurt by those who only get one or two right. While this does hurt the guys who do predict right and would get 6, 7 TPE normally, it helps to even out earning for mock draft. You now only need 7 correct to get all TPE, which makes max earning a little bit easier.
Predictions
Before this season and Dropbear’s new method I was considering making it so that there was only 1 set of predictions per week. This would be the last sim of the week, which would have equaled 14 TPE in total, down from the 28 shown above. With predictions being annoying to grade and predictions graders not keeping up with it I was close to coming to this decision. However, with the new system we have in place it has become much better and as such no changes will be mad to the way predictions are.
Season Predictions
The only key change will be that this now awards 4 TPE for completion, moves Season Predictions from 12 TPE to 16 TPE, and guarantees at least 4.
Milestones
I’m sure DBs will be glad about this, Milestones are gone. The fickle state of the sim and lack of stats for every position has made Milestones horrible for certain positions, and without and easy way to track stats for positions with a lack of stats the best option is to remove them entirely and move the TPE earned to other things, such as the participation TPE for Season Predictions.
Equipment, Weekly Training
No changes to these, part of it is they’re fine in my eyes, part of it is I really don’t feel like issuing new ways to spend money without workshopping with others, such as Bankers, Head Office, and General Managers. I’m open to changes or additions for these items, but I don’t feel comfortable making decisions by myself on these items.
Activity Checks
No changes for Activity Checks, there isn’t a need for it to change.
New Season TPE Earnings
Note: Everything is assumed max unless otherwise noticed, so TPE values will vary.
NSFL Training Camp: 15 TPE
DSFL Training Camp: 10 TPE
Point Tasks: 15 TPE
Weekly Trivia: 20 TPE
Ultimus Week: 10 TPE
Mock Draft: 9 TPE
Predictions: 28 TPE
Season Predictions: 16 TPE
Milestones: 0 TPE
Equipment: 32 TPE
Weekly Training: 40 TPE, assuming a season is 8 total weeks (1 preseason week, 1 postseason week, 1 offseason week)
Activity Check: 16 TPE, using same weekly training assumption
Absolute Max: 201 TPE (as both DSFL and NSFL Training Camps can’t be claimed in the same season.)
In total 5 new TPE is added per year. While the absolute max does change 10 TPE for the new setup that can be explained easily. Since both DSFL and NSFL Training Camps can’t be earned in a season, the absolute max takes into account the NSFL’s Training Camp as it is higher, but no TPE is added in the long run. The main goal was to keep absolute max in line, while increasing the amount that casual earners receive. This creates more opportunities for those who don’t want to do certain things to still keep up with max earners, but max earners are still able to outpace them. The expected max stays roughly the same, 140-170 originally to 150-180 now, with the extra guaranteed TPE from Mock Draft, Weekly Trivia, and Season Predictions.
