Hello everyone! It’s time for another edition of Dominator Power Rankings! To those unfamiliar, you can see how these rankings are calculated here.
Previous Editions: Week 4, Week 7
While all teams came into this season with hope, the sim can have a mind of its own. Are there any teams that just have the sim’s blessing this season? Are there any teams that have fallen on continued bad luck? This week we will take a look at how blessed or cursed each team is by the sim. In order to do this, we will see how many games teams won with a negative Dominator Score or how many games teams lost with a positive Dominator Score.

The Silverbacks could make an argument that they could have another win but the difference between 2-8 and 3-7 wouldn’t make much of a difference for their season outlook.

Sim’s Feelings Toward BER: Forgotten
Early in the season, Berlin was being toyed with. After being outscored by 14 in 4th quarter to lose to the Yeti, the sim blesses them with a comeback the following week against Cape Town in back to back games. But since then? The Fire Salamanders have become an afterthought.

Until Colorado was able to get their second win this past week, their only win was the biggest gift (Dominator Scorewise) that the sim had given any team this season.

Sim’s Feelings Toward HON: Spiteful
Going into the season, no one would have guessed that the Hahalua would undergo a firesale this season. However, after two early losses that they should have won (2-2 feels a lot different than 0-4), Honolulu pulled the plug on the season. And then, most definitely out of spite, the sim “corrects” itself by allowing a victory over the Copperheads that maybe shouldn’t have been.

Sim’s Feelings Toward CHI: Hatred
The Butchers have the most losses with a positive Dominator Score by any team in the ISFL. While they did receive one gift, a 5-5 record would put them right in the middle of the playoff hunt in the NSFC. What has Chicago done to upset the sim so?

% of Time Winning: 41.06%
% of Time Losing: 44.45%

Sim’s Feelings Toward SAR: Indifference
Even the one “blessing” from the sim was a practically even Dominator Score (though it was a win without an offensive touchdown). It seems that the Sailfish have been able to avoid the attention (good and bad) of the sim so far this season.

Sim’s Feelings Toward NOLA: Tolerant
For many seasons, the Secondline have been abused by the sim and trampled on in the cellar of the ISFL. This season seemed to be more of the same for New Orleans until just this past week. The Secondline have strung together 4 straight wins and the sim hasn’t stepped in to ruin the fun.

The Crash are bucking the trend by going with a scrambler at QB. The sim has gone on to not help out Cape Town at all. Though with only a single “extra” loss, the Crash have been able to avoid the worst the sim has to offer.

Sim’s Feelings Toward YKW: Afraid
With the unveiling of the new Wraith and this season being declared “The Year of the Joker”, wouldn’t you be a little bit afraid too? Yellowknife has used this to their advantage to put themselves in 2nd place in the NSFC. But one has to wonder if things would look different if the Wraiths weren’t so intimidating.

Sim’s Feelings Toward SJS: Generous
After many seasons in which the SaberCats lost games with a positive dominator score, they have had smooth sailing this season. The sim even felt inclined to gift them a game against Yellowknife to help them keep pace in the difficult ASFC.

No team has felt the ups and downs of the sim quite like the Otters. Are the Otters blessed or cursed? It seems to all balance out in the end but it’s been quite a roller coaster for Orange County.

The Hawks were not projected to be a top team this season as many top players are in the midst of regression. However, they find themselves with the best scoring offense and best scoring defense in the ISFL after 10 games. While the sim hasn’t granted many wins that shouldn’t have been but a league leading 5 defensive touchdowns sure point towards a bit of favor.

In an infatuation that started during last season’s playoffs, the Copperheads have been the sim’s darling for a while now. With a few wins that shouldn’t have been, Austin has been riding high this season and hopes that the relationship stays positive into the playoffs again.
