The idea that this DSFL Draft Class is record setting makes me laugh. They may have some studs, but let’s be real. The record setting draft was the first one where Mike Boss dropped like a stone and got thrown into a QB carousel only to come out on top as the greatest QB the NSFL had ever seen. That draft day was horrible. The next record setting DSFL Draft Class contained Johnny Blaze. This was much more relaxed, Blaze was a first round pick and it was party time. The season one draft was the wild west compared to the season 12 draft with Blaze. We had an entire hotel rented out for a day when Johnny was drafted. There of course was the short lived Jamal Slick era, which I just choose to overlook. What a weird time that was. Slick’s star just shined too bright. His draft class was surely not considered record setting by any means. Of all three of the players in my Agency, Boss was the most memorable but Blaze was by far the most fun. The relief in Johnny’s eyes when he realized he would eventually be moving from Portland, Oregon to Orange County, California is something I will never forget. Really, can you blame him? Oregon is not the place to be, folks.
