Hi! This is a Q&A introduction of Mary Marie, a S41 safety prospect. It is also an introduction of me, aeonsjenni (or just Jenni if you prefer). This is generally directed at DSFL and ISFL GM's, but anyone can ask a question if they would like. Mary Marie was interviewed a short time ago, you can get to know her deal by reading the transcript of that interview. There is not much to know about me except that I have enjoyed my short time on this forum so far, and that I intend to stick around. I'll try to get to your questions as swiftly as possible.
@Twenty6 asks:
1) What about the safety position appeals to you?
Marie: Well, I love middle of the field zone defense, and safety is all about middle of the field zone defense! So that would be the first thing. I could enjoy being a middle linebacker just as much, I suppose, but I don't think I'm big enough for it.
2) Which gets your adrenaline pumping more: intercepting a pass or stripping and recovering the ball?
Marie: Well, players almost never both strip AND recover the ball on the same play, so that's definitely the more exciting play. Never in my college career have I accomplished that kind of feat, so I suppose it's a high that I'm still chasing. That being said I have intercepted a few passes and they can be some of the cleanest and most beautiful plays when you do it right.
3) When you have cereal, do you first pour the cereal or the milk?
Marie: I definitely pour the milk first because the sound of dry cereal clinking against a bowl is horrible to me; it's just the most awful sound!
@negs asks:
1) Peanut butter or jelly? Why?
Marie: Definitely jelly, because peanut butter is nothing without jelly's sour flavors, but jelly by itself is good on everything - cheese, bread, toast, etc.
2) What unique quality does your player bring to the field?
Marie: I would definitely say it is my calm demeanours and dispositions. Also I'm pretty fast.
@"Mattyoce971" asks:
1) Who’s playstyle would you say Mary Marie models their game after?
Marie: Probably Budda Baker. He's a great player who sticks with it through tough times and plays with a ton of speed.
2) Do they have any pre game rituals or meals they have to eat/do?
Marie: I try to cook my own meal the night before I play a game. It keeps the nerves down and lets me focus on something enjoyable. I try not to eat too much on game days, sometimes a fruit and a bit of cereal. I just try to stay hydrated and the like.
3) Does pineapple belong on pizza?
Marie: Of course! Any food can belong on anything, that's why we call it the culinary arts.
@domffl asks:
What’s your favorite letter?
Marie: Probably F. It's the first letter in the words forced and fumble. Also fuck.
Jenni: Definitely I. Great letter, I've always been attached to it.
@dustywilson22 asks:
1) What brings you and your talents to the ISFL?
Marie: Well, I played pretty well in college and more or less got invited, who would pass that up, right?
Jenni: I saw a thread on r/nfl and wanted to check it out, a few people in the comments were recommending it and I figured it was worth a shot. This is the first time I've really joined an online community that wasn't centered around being gay, so it's all pretty new to me, but I'm having a lot of fun.
2) Do you have a certain team you'd like to be apart of, or just embracing any team that wants you?
Marie: I don't see a reason why I wouldn't fully embrace the team that drafts me unless something horrible happens. I should knock on wood. That being said the colors and location of the San Jose Saber Cats definitely appeal to me, at least when it comes to ISFL teams. Portland Pythons are at the top of my list amongst the DSFL teams.
3) Also do you have a favorite football team?
Marie: Of course!! It's got to be the Edinburgh [REDACTED]. I played with them for four years, who could I love more?
Jenni: I'm a fan of the San Francisco 49ers. Please don't ask how I feel about the most recent NFCCG.
@Gadget asks:
Who’s your favorite spice girl and why?
Marie: Definitely Sporty Spice. It's really cool to see girls that don't strictly adhere to traditional femininity be celebrated as a pop star.
Jenni: I don't know! I do have vague memories of finding Scary Spice to be really beautiful when I was pretty young, so probably her.
@TubbyTim69 asks:
1) Is hotdog a sandwich?
Marie: Yea, sure, why not?
Jenni: Yea, sure, why not?
2) How do you feel your game will change from college to the DSFL and ultimately to the ISFL level?
Marie: Hopefully I can become a more well-rounded player as I grow into the league. I'd like to work on my tackling in particular. I'm a fair bit smaller than a lot of other players so my mechanics will have to be flawless!
3) If you played offense , which position do you think would best suit you?
Marie: Well, the fullback position is one of the coolest in all of sports, and I think the Iso formation is the most fun to watch plays be run out of, but I'm probably not big enough for it. I'd like to be a return specialist, that would be sick.
@Repgnar asks:
1) Pineapple on a pizza?
Marie: Didn't I already answer this question? Well, for the record, no. Pineapple absolutely does not belong on pizza.
2) Pepsi or Coke?
Marie: Pepsi
3) F or C?
Jenni: I'm not sure what this means? If it's purely the letters themselves then probably C.
4) Why are the Chiefs going to win the Super Bowl?
Marie: Huh? The Chiefs haven't even won a playoff game in like, twenty years. They should probably start there before thinking about winning a Super Bowl.
Jenni: They will win the Super Bowl because the pure spiteful energy emanating from the Bay Area has placed a horrible curse on the Eagles. Also Mahomes is really good.
5) Favorite Girl Scout Cookies?
Jenni: To be honest I don't remember enough about Girl Scout Cookies to give a good answer here. I wish I could say something that really let you know that I gave a thoughtful answer. But all I remember is Thin Mints.
@DREAMSLOTH asks:
1) What gets bigger the more you take away from it?
Marie: Oh God. I'm horrible at word puzzles. Let me look this one up. Okay. It's a hole. A hole gets bigger the more you take away from it. That's pretty clever.
2) Is sushi a hotdog?
Marie: Yea, sure, why not?
Jenni: Yea, sure, why not?
3) Are quesadillas a sushi?
Marie: Yea, sure, why not?
Jenni: Yea, sure, why not?
4) What's your favorite constellation?
Marie: Probably Andromeda. I like the bigger constellations more.
Jenni: The only constellation I can ever consistently identify is Orion's Belt, so it's got to be that one
@Twenty6 asks:
