As current GM of the Yellowknife Wraiths I feel like I've done a pretty good job. On the team building side, myself and the other GM, Arkz, have built a very good team. Currently, we have a very solid offense with a mix of veterans and highly earning younger players. Not as explosive as some maybe but we can easily keep defenses honest with solid running and passing games. Next season should be even better as we add a TE and 2 young WRs ready to show the league their talent. On the defensive side we have a team that is simply stifling. In the air and on the ground, opposing teams find that we have solid defensive line and defensive back corps, and by far the best linebackers in the league. Can't run and can't pass, I guess you'll have to punt. As far as culture, we have a great one in Yellowknife, where players that have retired or aren't on the team any more still feel welcome to hang out!

“Listen, you bring me in, I’m going to turn this team into the Pancake capital of the world. Mark my words, you’re missing out!” Kurbis turned and stormed out of the office, emphatically slamming the door behind him. He needed a good pancake after that one. Kurbis shook his head, why’d he ever think he could make it as a GM? Clearly the office politics were already too much for him. Perhaps it was better he stayed in his lane, there were always pancakes to provide both on the field and in the kitchen. He could change the culture from the inside, build the team into a pancake making empire. Yes, that’s what he’d do. They would never suspect a thing until it was already too late. A grin spread wide across his face, it was all coming together now. He left the building chuckling to himself, the future was bright in Yellowknife indeed.
I would make a damn good GM due to my experience with simulation games. I have played a ton of simulation coaching games ranging from eSports to football and even boxing. In each one I have risen to the top, with an sports coach being my crowning achievement. I was #1 in the world for 3 months straight and, literally, wrote the book on how to win at the game. I know I could do the same for thr ISFL with some practice in the sim.
Alas it is not meant to be. I have made my bed being a part of Head Office and cannot hold the role of GM. However, I still plan to be an asset to my own team by learning the sim which will also fuel my drive to improve the league as part of HO. I do think my current GMs are rocking it out (just look at CHI's record) and look forward to continue being part of their team. |
