Bondi Beach is struggling, it's true. We're 3-4 and struggling to find our team identity. Our defense has been absolutely spectacular, with our linebacker corps forming the Bermuda Triangle, which is where runs and passes go to get stuffed or knocked down. The middle of the field may as well not exist with them out there.
The secondary goes after the ball like a seagull going after a little kid's french fry on a pier. 43 pass deflections, 4 picks, the numbers speak for themselves that teams are nervous throwing the rock. Our pass rush has been fantastic too, notching a respectable 24 tackles for loss.
Where we struggle is on the offensive side of the ball, as much as it pains me to say it. We've struggled through the air, we'd had difficulty finding our identity as a team, and our kicker has been terrible. As much as I love Guntank and how they are on the field, they aren't winning any friends in the locker room by missing kicks inside the 30. If our receivers can work on their hands, and we can run the ball a bit more, I think we have a playoff run in us,
I think the biggest change that the sarasota sailfish could make would be to stop running the ball! willier has been absolutely cooking so far this season with the most passing yards, 2nd most passing touchdowns, and least interceptions in the league. I think if we were to extrapolate that and remove all running plays, willier would not only shatter records but sarasota would too. and I'm not talking about just passing records, but I think sarasota would go undefeated every year until old willier had to hand them up. I guess we have to keep running so my play action passes work. on the other hand we could just remove those from the playbook entirely with the runs and that will take care of the problem. time to phone abh and sizz and let them know of the game plan going forward, and that willier will be audibling out of any non passing plays the rest of the season.
Dang, 7 weeks in already in what might be my last season for my player. Welp Austin is looking pretty gosh darn good if you ask me. We lost a couple of close ones I think we could’ve won if we just held together a bit more but we are sitting 6 and 4 right now hoping to make a hard hard push for the playoffs. Our offense is firing on all cylinders and so is our rush defense. Our secondary has some room for improvement to really solidify us as the top dog in the league I think. And they are currently striving for nothing short of perfection and I’m sure they will hit their groove soon and be a force to be reckoned with. One they become that no fly zone I know they can be Austin is going to be that team to beat. Just gotta keep doing what we are doing
We in San Jose have had a rough season to this point. To say we could improve one thing or the other would be too simplistic, instead, we need to improve at every part of the game. All three facets of the game have been inadequate this season and thus we all need to be better to have a better second half. On offense, we haven't been able to move the ball successfully enough to win games but that is to be expected sometimes when you have a rookie quarterback. While in many games the defense has been solid, there are other ones where it feels like the team would not be able to stop a nosebleed. Finally, there are the abysmal special teams. Booter McGavin has just been horrendous this season. He can't punt the ball long, he can't pin teams deep, and he certainly can't be bothered to make a field goal. Simply the San Jose Sabercats would have double their win total if they just had another kicker.
