During the off-season, the Pythons decided to make players go to a country they had never been to before, which led to Mike Gesicki ending up in Norway. After needing a day to recover (he got bad jetlag and had never left the US before) Gesicki spent 2 days like a normal vacation visiting Oslo and Bergen and doing some sightseeing before getting to work. After the sightseeing part of the trip, Gesicki went back to Oslo to help a futbol league start a flag football league. He spent a couple days teaching the 20 head coaching candidates the rules and some basic strategy of the game, eventually choosing 8 head coaches and 8 assistant coaches. After that he ran a week long training camp for players, showing them different routes and coverages. After the week, teams were made and they did a 8 team tournament to start the league. Gesicki watched with joy as he had helped found the first flag football league in Norway.
