I spent his draft day with my family and a handful of my college teammates. My family around me was nervous, but I was as calm as anyone could be. I had worked hard to improve through four years of college, and I gave it everything I had in the prospect bowl. It was now out of my hands. I was ecstatic to see his name come up at 52. I was even more excited to see I had been picked by the Marshalls. My family members that were around me kept asking me if I felt different now that I had made it, and my teammates kept asking me how I was going to spend my signing bonus. Honestly, I didn’t have good answers for either of them. I knew for certain I would be drafted, I could feel it in my bones. Still, it was a relief to finally see my name taken off the board. More questions came in about how I feel about San Antonio as a city and talking about financial planning. I spent the rest of the night relaxing and spending time with my loved ones. After all, I was about to embark on the biggest journey of my life.
Code: Told in first person from the perspective of Rose Jenkins I remember being with my dad when he was drafted to the NSFL. We weren't at the draft, we were at home. He didn't expect to be picked high up very far and by the time it got to the 9th round, he seemed kind of nervous. But in the end, he was picked in the 10th round by a team he'd spend the rest of his career with. Coming into this draft, I knew all of the GMs already. I'd grown up around this league, I'd met everyone while my dad was still making the rounds as a coach. I knew who would draft me. I talked to her plenty of times in the lead-up to the draft. I felt lucky. I didn't have the anxiety my dad felt about being drafted, I knew where I was going. I sat there with my parents and my girlfriend and watched as the draft started. I knew I was getting called early, so I made sure to dress up as best I could. The time had come and I saw the commissioner go up to the stage. I started getting ready to stand up. He gets to the podium... and he says the wrong name. It wasn't mine. All those talks I had with that GM: Meaningless. My dreams of being a top draft pick: Gone [OPTION]S32: CAR: 0 \ RUS: 0 \ RUT: 0 \ CAT: 35 \ REC: 582 \ RET: 3

As i've said before Jacob Rowans draft day ended in tears. And it wasn't because of sadness or disappointment. It was tears of happiness, he had finally made it. He wasn't expecting to be drafted that high, " I was expecting 20 rounds in or more to be honest". But in the 12th round of the draft the celebrations began in the Rowan household. "I've never seen my father cry, but that day he let the flood gates open". The Rowans prepared for draft day like it was the super bowl. Hot wings, beers, Pizza, BBQ and more. Jacob was stress eating like crazy, kinda suprised he didn't puke when he was celebrating being drafted. After the party Jacob sat himself down infront of the TV and started watching some Tijuana games from last season, analyzing how the other guys played. And then started watching tape from other DSFL teams. What you might have noticed is that on draft day Jacob stayed at home, not really other any other reason than that he wanted to share this great moment with his family

Chad Pennington remembers his draft day all too well. It was a part of his career that he was dreading during the entire DSFL season. He sat right in between Brad and Thad and watched as his name was called to a different team than Brad's was. And it totally ruined him.
Chad was clearly dealing with some mental issues before the draft into the offseason. He had severe separation anxiety until the season he finally spent with Brad and Thad on the team that partially caused him to ask to be traded to a different team. The draft was one of the best and worst nights of his career. It officially meant that he would be moving up to the NSFL after hoping to commit to a DSFL playoff run with the Luchadores. On the upside he did end up getting a kitten to help keep him company though. Chad love's little kitties.
Draft night for Crane was a night to remember. He invited his whole family, including his Brother's ex wife Maris, to watch the event. After his years as a Seattle talk show host, no one could believe it when Frasier announced that he'd be playing professional football. So he rented out the local sports bar and watch as his family and friends poured in to celebrate. When the fourth round came, and his name was called, the place went nuts! Frasier had done it! He was off to play football for the Coyotes! But first, they celebrated! Drinks were on the house, as Frasier got on stage and made a triumphant speech! Thanking everyone from his producer Roz, to this Father's dog, Eddie, he held his drink in the air and three cheers were made by all, as he embarked on his next big step in life!
For Andrew Reese, the road to the S11 Draft was an interesting one. Reese was playing for the Kansas City Coyotes as a Quarterback, splitting time with Chris Orosz. However, with several teams already in good shape at QB, there was little interest in Reese at his current role. The odds of him falling to the second round or further were high. But then opportunity struck. In a draft lacking in Defensive Lineman, Reese made the move to DT and immediately became a viable option for many teams. He was passed over by the Philadelphia Liberty, who selected Safety Lennox Garrett first overall. But he didn’t stay on the board long as the Arizona Outlaws were up next, possessing both the #2 and #3 picks. They used those picks to draft LB Alex Selich at #2 and Reese at #3, instantly strengthening their front seven. Both men would go on to play vital roles for the team over the course of the next 3 seasons. Selich would later be moved to the Yellowknife Wraiths in the pre-S14 offseason via a trade while Reese returned to the QB position in the same offseason. However, during their time together, the two men joined the likes of players like Bucky Barnes, Arbin Asipi, Dean Morris, and Hike Mughes in making the team’s defensive units one of the most effective in the league.

Guy Nikko was enjoying some quality time with friends and family during the S14 DSFL draft. He knew around when he expected to go, and he had a good idea where he would be going. So when his name was called for the Solar Bears' 5th round pick, Nikko wasn't surprised. He was, however, elated. And as he hugged his mom and his brothers, he knew that this was how it was supposed to be. He HAD to make it, and all the hard work had finally payed off. The time poured into molding himself to be the best he could be had led him to the beginning of his professional football career. Nikko took a call from the GMs and thanked them for the opportunity. The Solar Bears, being an expansion franchise, weren't expected to make a run at the championship but Nikko didn't mind. His goal is to perform, learn the ropes in a professional team, and try to make the NSFL. Despite this, Guy didn't particularly have a preference as to where he went. At the news that he would be moving to Florida, he immediately started packing all of his warm weather clothing though. He had always been a fan of warm weather, and was excited to finally have a chance to live in it full time.
