There's a lot of people I really enjoy in the DSFL. The majority of them are relationships I formed in the PBE of course, but I still think it counts. @Simo is a big one, he's a big ISFL guy and had me very hyped to be on the KCC after being so bummed that I was taken from my Lucadores despite them picking me up off of waivers. @WhatAmUs is the one who got me into the ISFL, we only talked once but he seemed dope. Speaking of my Lucas, There's a lot of great guys there including @Ben, @Kotasa, @GuitarMaster, @Beaver, @Pat, @Bigred, @JPach, @mith, @Tonzy; just to name a few. My guy @Exilate wasn't there when I was there but he's goated as well. Additionally I have a lot of great friends in the KCC locker room, such as @Glims, @numbers, @noanic, @fitted, @Starboy, @butters, @frazzle, @matty, @Bayley, @Reno and @poot. Well, friends might not be the right word aside from poot, but they're all awesome folks to talk to and I'm glad to see them whenever they're in the LR. I'm not the most active guy in the DSFL, but I really enjoyed my time there and winning the DSFL OLOTY was the cherry on top. Winning the ultimus with my Luchas my very first season was also an amazing time. Without this amazing community of great people, it wouldn't have been nearly as sweet so I'm very happy with this league and the awesome people in it. I know there's been some drama recently in this league and it's led to several people on this list be upset with one side or the other and consider quitting. Hopefully their enthusiasm in this league hasn't lessened as a result; because at the end of the day drama passes but your relationships and friendships you form in these leagues continue on so long as you continue to put forth the effort.
I mentioned my appreciation for a few people in my Louisiana Purchase retirement post, so I wanted to take this opportunity to show some love for those that I didn't single out individually that time [still love you, current and former Colorado people, syl, high, etc.], specifically the rest of the London war room, my favorite place in the league. I'm pretty confident in saying that no single person has had more impact on the league than @"Maglubiyet" since he joined. And I remember being iffy on him for London because I wasn't sure if he would sim test. smh. If I close my eyes and picture a more idealized version of my own time in the league, it basically looks like @abh89: smarter, more popular, more successful DSFL GM, more involved in the league, actually good CB stats. I can always count on @Z-Whiz to agree with me about strats (full yeet) and I appreciate that all of his multis have really helped boost league recruitment numbers. @Crunk no lie makes me jealous because he's funnier than me. @Swanty is like the best user in the league, so I don't even know how to properly praise him. @katarn22 is the person I would most want to hang out and get pizza with. Oh yeah, we should do that sometime. @Mojojojo is the smartest person in the room (not the war room, I mean whatever room she is in at the time). @slate was a perfect hire and is a Royal through and through. @Pib has contributed more to the war room in his 3 seasons than I have since the team was created. @Menace0528 is not a furry, he's a Moon Knight. @platanocat just has life completely figured out. @Sebster couldn't stop me from buying a horse, but I love that he tried. @Luciddreams702 is my movie buff bro and going to do wonderful things as GM. I said I was only going to mention people that I didn't already get in my retirement post, but I have to tell @DeadlyPlayer I love him again anyway.
I may be new here yeah you can check when I first signed up I guess. I'm in one discord and already have a blast with the the Season 31 Prospects. First off I want to say GO MOOSE. Really looking forward to the prospect bowl. Everyone has been nothing but a pleasure to hang around with in the discord. @Thor Y U MAKE ME DO THIS. Another sim league you say? Fine. You killed it for Detroit lets bring Zoltan to the football field. @jeffie43 you are here too so you get a ping. Looking forward to playing with and or against you in another sim league. @Blasoon I know you a bit from Seattle in the SHL but looking forward to competing against you in this draft class! @SchwarzNarr thank you for being so absolutely inviting in the rookie discord. Keeping all of us new creates active and giving us some fun topics to chat about. I haven't been a rookie in the SHL in a long time but I really hope that the rookie mentors treated you half as well there compared to how you are treating all of us so far. @UberBJ its already been really fun to see you in this kind of capacity in this league. Sometimes I forget how experienced other people are in Sim Leagues before hopping over the SHL. Looking forward to seeing how things progress not only in the SHL but also in the ISFL. I know there is a lot of cross over between leagues and just can't wait to see how my career progresses over here. Everyone has been super understanding of what kind of player i'm looking to create. Going to be a fun ride over here too.
In general I'm really excited and happy to create a player in this affiliate league and even though i've been around for just a few days at this point i'm really looking foward to a long career.
For once, I might be afraid of writing too much for a point task. I will try and make this as concise as possible but there are certainly a LOT of people who have positively impacted my time and experience in the league.
To start off, a big thank you to @"Maglubiyet". You were the first person the reach out to me, that I can remember, after joining the league. From there, you sparked my love for not only the league but the London Royals who have become my second home. Thank you to @Sylphreni and @Highhaschdi for liking me and believing in me enough to draft me to the Royals with your first pick in the S24 DSFL draft. I may not have stayed active in the league had I not gone to London. Thank you to everyone on that S24 London team. Winning the Ultimini was an incredible experience that further cemented my love for this league, the Royals, and the community. Thank you to @Attopax for advertising the league Wiki my rookie season and providing me with a great source of league income, as well as historical league information. Thank you to @TheCC for tricking me into ruining counting bot streaks and molding me into the veteran counter I am today. Thank you to Mag and @abh89 for being model GM's and providing me with a framework to be successful as a GM myself. A very big thank you to @slate. I had qualms about being a GM, thinking I could never be as successful as those who had come before me. But you certainly assuaged any doubts I had. Thank you for being on top of things when I wasn't, putting together some fantastic draft classes, and bringing London their second Ultimini. I really couldn't have done it without you dude. To @DeadlyPlayer, for being the only person that can make me smile by calling me a motherfucker. To @Modern_Duke for creating the London Royals with Deadly, and for being the voice of reason in the war room when the rest of us can't make up our minds. To @Crunk and @Swanty for being awesome dudes all around. It was a privilege to be able to join the Royals as rookies together and continue to stay connected during our time in the league. To @Luciddreams702 for stepping up to be my co-GM. I'm very excited to work with you and bring another Ultimini to the Royals franchise. To @Pib for being an absolute homerun of a pick and a user. I know you're pretty busy IRL but London is a better place with you here. To @platanocat for always knowing what to say to get a laugh out of me. To @JPach for being an awesome dude all around. I know you really wanted me in Tijuana, maybe next time around. Let's get pizza soon, seriously. To @infinitempg for being an even bigger Rutgers fan than I am. I'm glad that I will always have someone to throw an "RRRRRRRRRRRR" to and get a "UUUUUUUUUUUU" back. Also you're invited to pizza with me and Jpach. Also also lets meetup at a game this Fall. To @Mojojojo for having such a passion for your work and career. Your dedication to what you do is honestly inspiring to me as I still try and figure out that same passion in my own life. To @Kotasa and @"Jimi" for being two of the most chill, nicest people I've met. Seriously, I'd love to share a beer with you bros one day. To @Jo3fish5 for selling me my Christmas tree. 10/10, would buy again. To @ReverendOReily for sharing some of your music with me a while ago. Though I'm by no means a professional, music has been one of my loves so it's awesome to hear stuff you play yourself. To @Menace0528 for being a good sport and putting up with us when we tease you. It's all out of love. To @"Simo" for teaching me pretty much everything I know about cricket. Seriously. To @Tesla for being the ACTUAL nicest user in the league. I know people like to say I am, but Tesla blows me out of the water in the niceness category. Never change!
There are so many people to say "thank you" to and I'm sure I'll miss some along the way. My apologies. I'm old and my brain doesn't work so well. In no particular order I'd like to say thanks to...
@RainDelay for being the first person I talked to about this league and being very patient with all my questions as I was signing up. @Blasoon @J0EB @SchwarzNarr @Tesla for helping me figure this whole thing out almost a year and a half ago. I had no idea what I was doing (spoiler: I still don't) but you all helped me out in a bunch of different way whether it be answering my annoying questions or listening to my annoying responses to your questions. And really, all the crazy kids in Norfolk like @Jimi64 and @ScorpXCracker and @IsaStarcrossed and @muse316 and so many more that I'm sure I'm forgetting. Norfolk really are the best folk! I'd also like to give a shout out to @gucci and all of the Honolulu Hahalua for giving me my first shot in the ISFL. It weirdly seems like forever ago even though it was like a year back. Probably my biggest thanks go to @Bwestfield and @woelkers for taking a giant chance on me and drafting me first overall in the expansion draft. These two, and by extension the entire New York locker room welcomed me right away and they're the reason I'm as engaged in this league as I am. They also laid the groundwork for what we're accomplishing in New York now. Also a big shoutout to @zaynzk for having to deal with me on the regular, and the rest of the New York crew including (but not limited to): @iStegosauruz @TubbyTim69 @MN_Moosey @mcgriddleluver @dogwoodmaple @TeyonSchavari @Trautner and really the entire locker room. I'm sorry if I didn't tag you all but I seriously believe that we've got the best group of individuals in the league and every person there is part of the reason why I wanted to take on the challenge of GMing. Let's go win another Ultimus! (Also, without having to tag everyone, thanks to all the HO folks, all the other GMs, the budget and audit teams, and anyone else who has had to put up with me throughout this past year and a half. I appreciate you.)
Well, this is my second go round in the ISFL. Last time around, I was drafted by the Sarasota Sailfish and had a great time in the locker room there. I decided to focus on the PBE after I got a GM job over there, and @Frostbite was super supportive and didn't give me any grief for it. I thought I'd come back, but I never did with Zack Mouse.
Fast forward to Season 28, and I created Zack DiNozzo right after the DSFL draft. I was picked up by the Norfolk Seawolves and immediately reconnected with @bex who I played with in our Minor League days in the PBE, so we ended up together again for development league round 2! Bex is fun to be around, as always. @Magnet is always making everyone laugh with something, or just hyping us up for game day (TWEETWOOF!). I didn't talk a whole lot in the locker room so other than those two, I didn't feel like I really connected with anyone. Everybody had a good time though, and had some good times. The real impact for me has been with the Orange County locker room. I already had a decent working relationship with @Eldorian from my PBE GM days, but now we've really hit it off since I was drafted by OCO I think. We play Phasmophobia together almost every week, and he's just a great dude to talk to. @Beaver and his drama loving shenanigans are always good for a laugh as well. @"Blasson" and @Memento Mori have made me feel so welcome ever since they drafted me, and I couldn't be happier with my current situation in the league. @Gragg9, thank you for always pinging me if I forget to do a task; keeps me on my toes and earning as much as I can. @shrub02 needs to stop taking all my land in Risk, though. I have been in this league for about a year now. That is crazy to me. I remember when I first was intrested in this league even though I didn't really know a whole lot about football (I still dont haha), but this league has taught me a whole lot for sure. I have also come into contact with a bunch of super cool people and had the pleasure to play with really cool people. I dont think a list of my favorite and coolest people in this league would be complete without the person who first convinced me to join in @bex. I remember sharing the kingpins lr with her and she convinced me to join after telling me she was the commish there. She also managed to get me to Norfolk which was one of the best experiences I have had in this league. I probably would not be in ISFL without her so I appreciate it greatly. I also really appreciate the awesome people who I met and played with and got me into the league especially my GMs @J0EB and @Blasoon. I do not hear from you guys too much anymore, but you guys were so helpful to me in this league and I got a lot of appreciation and respect for what you guys did in the GM role in Norfolk. Once I made it out of the DSFL I met a bunch of really cool people in the bigs playing for the Sabercats. I was drafted by @ckroyal92 and @Rradum and I am so glad they took a chance on me in the third round. It has been awesome playing for you guys and winning an ultimus. Since then its been a blast in the locker-room and its been fun playing 5 seasons with you guys and continuing to do so for a good while. Being Rickie has been a lot of fun and I am looking forward to the end and my peak season is ahead of me so I am really excited to see if I am able to do anything. There are a lot of really cool people in this league I have met and I am appreciative towards all of you! Lets go Sabercats and Seawolves!
The ISFL, then named NSFL, is the first sim league I've ever joined. Everything was new to me and I hadn't really gotten started until RainDelay contacted me when scouting for Myrtle Beach for the Season 21 DSFL Draft. Rain helped get me started with the Mock Draft PT and also pointed me towards the Wiki PT which helped me get some TPE and not fall too far behind the rest of the S22 class. Inverted/Kyle and Jay_Doctor were another two who helped me early on. Kyle was the second scout to contact me and during our conversation mentioned some attributes that I should focus on for my build at safety while also pointing me toward Jay_Doctor who was also more than helpful when discussing which attributes to prioritise as a free safety.
The Season 22 class was pretty big, but I didn't know anyone right of the bat. I got invited to a S22 DB server created by FurFurFurson/Buck where I met other S22 defensive backs JOEB, Mori, Colabear, Mith, Seb, Warner and Zamir as well as honorary defensive back RussDrivesTheBus. Buck started the group to get a bunch of us together and think of how we could stand out in the S21 DSFL Draft to get selected in the early rounds. It was a nice group to be part of and pretty much everyone there was earning well and among the TPE leaders in the class heading into the S22 NSFL Draft. I hadn't been all that active in terms of media/graphic production or getting a league job so was a bit behind relative to them but it served as motivation to try to close the gap and catchup. The S22 DB group was probably the reason why I stayed active in the league early on and without it I'd probably wouldn't have stayed as long as I have. Testing (or a more apt description of attempting to test) has been been something that I've been doing in some capacity since Season 22. Toasty showed me how he tested during the S21 DSFL Playoffs which got me interested in testing and also provided resources to help compile results quickly. I'm not entirely sure of the value of testing but the idea of trying to find ways to help the team was something interesting and I have Toasty to thank for introducing me to that aspect of the league. After two real-life years in the ISFL, there are many people that I can shout out as people who have had a positive impact on me in my time here. For starters, the obvious call-outs are @timeconsumer for drafting me to San Antonio, creating a great locker room that got me hooked, showing me the ropes of being a GM, advocating for Yellowknife to draft me, and just generally being an awesome dude. @Frick_Nasty, @Duilio05, @terriblehippo, and @Baron1898 (hope you're enjoying inactivity), my Fab V bros, have seen me write plenty about how much they mean to me for being such a great group of dudes to be introduced to the league with. Bonus points for Duilio for taking on the DSFL GMing challenge with me. There are other S15 people that I have to mention, like @124715, @ScorpXCracker, @TeyonSchavari, @slothfacekilla, @SDCore, @moonlight, and a lot more that I'm forgetting (it was a big class, okay).
@Daybe and @Bigred1580 basically set the course for my ISFL future by drafting me to Yellowknife, letting me into the war room, and mentoring me to become a GM one day. Special double shoutout to BR for being one of the nicest, most wholesome people I've ever met, online or irl. And special double shoutout to daybe for being such a valuable contributor to the league at just eleven years old! @ValorX77 and @Air Crou, I was proud to be in a draft class with y'all, loved being teammates with you guys, and am excited to see how both of you have continued to be incredible members of the community. There are too many people to name for making Yellowknife the place to be during my time as a player and GM, but I'll try: @Trautner, @manicmav36, @Tomen, @StamkosFan, @CDub2, @Sweetwater for the old guys. @"BaconBrother" (the other nicest person I've ever met), @hihihi_62, @CLG Rampage, @RainDelay, @JaytheGreat, @cho1325, @Colabear, @KamiCommie, @HENDRIX 2.0, @iseedoug, @KillaScrilla, @C9Van for the medium-old guys. @DarknessRising, @deadlunatic, @Arkz, @ZootTX, @UberBJ, @NicholasTheGreat for the newer-but-not-really-that-new guys. Love y'all. Of course have the give the biggest thank you of all to @flyeaglesfly29 for being my GM partner in crime for so many seasons, you're amazing and I'm so glad we got to work and play together for so long. One of the greatest GMs of all time for sure! And of course, have to mention @PMoney for being willing to take my GM role when I needed to step down and helping to lead this team to even greater heights. Finally, better mention my awesome new Hawk squad. Frick gets a bonus mention, and then there's @Hallmonitor_20 for his great memes (but not for his TPE earning). @infinitempg could've been shouted out way earlier, but he'll end up here for generously being willing to share his touches with me, and a ton of thanks to @TheDangaZone for being willing to position switch to WR to fit me in. @Tomasnz, great to be reunited with you. @UltimateYeehaw, @King Jellyfish, @fever95, @allbetsonjames, and now @TomHanks, @goodfortunecoffee, @golden_apricot, and @Bauer. This squad is gonna be scary soon! Sorry if I missed anyone! <3 you all. |
