If I were lucky enough to sign another contract in this league and I found an extra 4 million hanging out in my bank account, I’m not saying a word to anyone who could take that away from me. I am owed that 4 million dollars. I’ve always been a team-first type of guy, but in this hypothetical fantasy, I think that I would really dig in and demand as much money as I could get away with during negotiations. Money is hard to come by in this league. There’s no universal basic income. The league encourages people to increase their personal wealth by gambling millions of dollars on bets within their own league. There is no way to make an honest dollar in this league, unless I want to spend God knows how long writing up a proposal that maybe 3 people will read only to get chump change in return. I could shift my focus to graphic design, but I have the feeling that my artistic lens would be disrespected. If I had an extra 4 million, I’m keeping it in my bank for a rainy day. I know how fast money goes in this lifestyle, and I think that I would treat it like a safety net bonus just in case I blew through my base contract wad before I retired.

Live Laughlove has always been a free spirit that takes life as it comes, so in all honesty he likely would have never noticed the additional $4 million being deposited in his bank account. Despite basically doing whatever he wants whenever he wants however, Laughlove also isn’t exactly what you would call a frivolous spender. His entire philosophy is to essentially earn enough that he never even has to bother knowing how much money he has, all while living fairly modestly. That being said, if someone on the team’s end of things were to notice the mistake and approach him regarding the excess deposit of cash into his account, he wouldn’t hesitate to give it back if that’s what they wanted. Easy come easy go, right? I don’t believe that it would come to that however, since as I mentioned earlier Laughlove isn’t a frivolous spender. He would likely spend the extra $4 million almost exclusively on additional training and better equipment, which would end up helping the team. Basically, even though the team would have given him the money on accident, I think at the end of the day they would be able to see it as a good investment in their future, and wouldn’t try to claim it. Besides, at the end of the day that isn’t a huge amount of money in this league.
I mean if we’re being realistic, I would never notice getting more money in my account accidentally. I check it so rarely that I have no real concept at any given time about how much I should have. Even if I did check sometime close to when the extra money came in, I wouldn’t think it was out of the ordinary. That said, if we’re assuming that I do know for a fact that I got the extra money, I guess I would report it. I’ve reported myself for everything else in this league. In a real world context, absolutely not. I would not say a damn word if I got some extra money in my account. But I also have significantly more ISFL dollars than real dollars as I’m sure most of us do. So, a lot of the reason I think I’d think I’d turn myself in is that I don’t need the money. If I did, well then maybe it’s a different answer. Sometimes you have to capitalize on whatever life happens to throw your way. But, I have always been up front with any transgressions in the league (leaking, late payments, messed up OL bots) which has gotten some fines and whatnot. So I like to think I’d be up front with this too.

This is a classic situation of "what momma don't know won't hurt her". The league is so restrictive with cap space on teams that for players it is hard to come by an extra FOUR MILLION DOLLARS. That's literally my current yearly salary so doubling that?? Please count me in! Just to be clear, if it was the New York Silverbacks I would probably say something since I am loyal and wouldn't want to mess up our financial cap space situation but if it was any other team I would probably keep my mouth shut and use it to buy equipment. Or if I was already able to buy equipment I would save that for a future season especially since I am getting closer to regression and I want to make sure I am at peak form for years to come. I could also use it to pay for my season weekly training which would definitely help me make money elsewhere to cover for tier six equipment. I have gone on the record numerous times about setting records and becoming a Hall of Famer so that money will help keep me in shape and give me financial security for at least one season which would honestly have a ripple effect on the years following.

I think that Raeni is too wary of issues in the system to not immediately report it. The worst possible thing would be to say nothing and have it uncovered later only to have used the money in any way. Like, there's no way that $4 million could just disappear without it ever coming up again, unless Jeff Bezos sneezed it out and didn't look back. And, there's a chance that that money is someone else's and they need it for their livelihood. It'd suck to lose out on the funds, and Raeni would absolutely not want to stand in the way of someone who needs it getting their money. So Raeni will report the money and makes sure it gets where it needs to be. Now, in an event that Raeni was gifted $4 million and had the knowledge that no one was going to come knocking for it? Now we're talking. Raeni's thankfully been able to pay off her debts through her contract money thus far and has put a lot of money towards charity. She's been working with a financial advisor to come up with a spending/saving plan, but $4 million would allow her to work on her next goal: owning property. Specifically, Raeni is hoping to create affordable housing for young adults coming out of the foster system in New York. $4 million would be a solid starting investment in that goal!
