Hello ISFLers!
Here’s the first issue of our new weekly league newsletter, combining all the latest updates from Head Office, department heads, GMs and some of the on-field action! If you have anything you think should be included in a newsletter, feel free to drop me a DM on Discord (Swanty#3048).
S31 Ultimus
Congratulations to the Honolulu Hahalua who emerged victorious over the Colorado Yeti to claim their first ever Ultimus trophy! We were treated to an incredible game with no less than 7 lead changes. Joel Drake might have thought he'd won it for the Yeti with a pick six with 5 minutes to go, but Honolulu capped off a game-winning drive with a 1 yard touchdown pass from Joliet Christ Jr to Lalo Salamanca with less than 2 minutes to go!
Congrats to @siddhus, @MMFLEX and the whole Honolulu roster for an incredible season!
S31 Ultimini
Congratulations also to the Dallas Birddogs for claiming the S31 Ultimini over the Kansas City Coyotes! The Birddogs made it 2-0 in Ultiminis following their S27 win and they put on a heck of a comeback performance to get them over the line. Trailing by 11 at the start of the fourth quarter, Dallas scored three times to secure the game, first with a Ricky Stanzi pass to Ivan Toastovich before another to John Riggins to take the lead, before a John Riggins 49 yard touchdown run with 1:39 to go secured the win.
Congrats to @Asked Madden, @ReverendOReily and all the Birddogs for their win!
Draft Season
We're officially into the offseason which means two of the most important dates in the calendar are right around the corner. This Friday, we will find out the destinations of the 52 draftees that make up the S32 class, and Thursday 4th November will see the DSFL draft, where we'll find out the destinations for the future superstars of the league! Both drafts will be streamed live on Youtube with a select panel of GMs and contributors, so join us at 8PM ET on both the 29th October and 4th November!
ISFL Honours
The other big date for your diaries is Monday 1st November. That's when we'll be recognizing the best players of the season at each position and discovering who our ISFL and DSFL MVPs are. As well, we'll be honoring users who have contributed significantly to the league, whether that's as GMs or as regular users who have gone above and beyond for this community over the last few months. Check here for the ISFL nominees and here for the DSFL nominees.
As always, the awards will be streamed live on Youtube at 8PM ET.
One fantastic initiative that's been added to the league over the last few seasons are All-Pro teams, which were just announced for the S31 season yesterday. Check out the first and second teams here!
ISFL Fantasy
We're still a couple of weeks away from the S32 season, but ISFL fantasy is already open for signups! This will be the first season with @3lewsers as Fantasy Head as Bayley's reign of terror comes to an end, but the format is the same as last season. For those unfamiliar, you'll be placed into a group at random with 5 other ISFLers, you'll draft your team and be in with a chance to win TPE! The top 3 in each group will earn TPE for their players, with the winner taking home 5, 2nd place getting 3 and 3rd place getting 1.
And brand new for this season... we will have additional prizes for the overall top 5! The overall highest scoring user will receive $5M, 2nd gets $3M, 3rd gets $2M, 4th gets $1M and 5th gets $500k.
Jobs Jobs Jobs!
The ISFL needs YOU! We have a number of open positions at the moment so if you'd like to contribute to the league and earn some cash, check out the forum here for a rundown of open positions.
Fun and Games
We’re always on the lookout for fun ideas to engage our community, ISFL/football related or otherwise, and we’d love to hear from you if you have an idea or want to help run a game, a watch party, a live podcast or anything else creative in the ISFL Discord to help bring our community together! Feel free to DM me if you’d like to get something started!
New Department Heads
A big congrats to @3lewsers for taking the reins of the fantasy team as mentioned above. A big thanks to @Bayley for doing an incredible job with fantasy over the last year!
We'd also like to welcome @Asked Madden to league leadership as he takes over from @flyeaglesfly29 as Audit Head. Fly also served his post for well over a year, and we thank him dearly for serving the league in such an important position. Enjoy a well earned retirement from league work!
The casino also has a fresh face in charge, as @Gragg9 takes over from @Duilio05. Thanks so much to Duilio for introducing a ton of new markets and games during his tenure, looking forward to seeing what Gragg can bring to the department!
We also have a new head of the Hall of Fame committee with @Kotasa taking over from @infinitempg. Thanks for all your hard work with the committee, infinite! It’s tough to imagine the HoF without you, but I’m sure Kotasa will be more than up to the task.
New Newsletter
I know you know there's a new newsletter because you're reading it. But I am terrible with names and could do with some help naming it. So feel free to post below with your suggestions!
That’s it for this edition! Don’t forget to sign up for fantasy and tune into the drafts and awards streams this week. See you next time!
