In the Kansas City Coyotes locker room you often find situations where the there in tension and down right fights especially in the wide receiver room with all the giant egos that reside in there. Now obviously as the best wide receiver I get a lot of hate from my fellows but I just have to make sure I put them in there place. I am not a man who really like to yell and throw down as I am just too cool to try and do that (although even if they do try I can beat them down quick hard too win a fist fight against a man with 3 arms). I normally just challenge them to a drinking contest of pan galactic gargle blasters and after a couple of those people have no idea what planet they are on let alone what beef they had with me even if it about me getting all the yards and TDs.
Prompt Wrote:There has been a fight in your Locker Room. How did your Player and Team Respond? It's no secret that this hasn't been the best year for Austin. We knew going in that it was going to more likely than not be a rebuilding year rather than a contending year, sure, but it's still been rough. Our low point was definitely week nine after losing to the Yeti - they'd been expected to be a poor team going into the season and we never looked good against them (even with a late TD to make the score look competitive). That really highlighted how our team having a good passing game couldn't make up for having the league-worst rushing in terms of yards and a mid to low overall defense. That wasn't alone the spark that reignited our competitive spirit, but it was part of what led us to getting our heads back in the game and pulling together a 4 game win streak (after losing to the Otters first, anyway). Sure, we lost the last two of the season agains the 13-3 duo of the Hahalua and Outlaws, but I think that being able to win some games against middle of the pack teams will help our mental resillience going into future seasons. And, seeing as I'm hoping to be a part of the team for said seasons, I hope it's part of the low point before we really turn things around and kick it into gear in the next couple seasons. Thomas walks into the locker room to the sounds of a fistfight. William Groves is having the season of a lifetime; he might not make it very far in the ISFL, but down here in the developmental league, he's a bonafide goal line TD machine.
Naturally, this means that Sconnie's pissed. He's the lead back, no doubt about it, but he just can't manage to find the end zone. And when push comes to shove in the trenches, the coaches call on Will. Now Sconnie's got Beck pinned against a wall. What might have been a rational discussion has long since devolved into a shouting match, and might soon devolve further. Eeeeeeee is trying his best to separate the two, but to no avail. By all appearances, Thomas ignores the fight brewing. Instead, he simply passes by, stopping for a brief moment to congratulate Sconnie on passing a thousand rushing yards on the season. Sconnie, momentarily distracted, turns to acknowledge the complement, apparently given in earnest. Beck uses the moment to slip Sconnie's grip, and now Eeeeeeee can properly restrain the irate running back. Thomas keeps walking to the showers, careful not to let an ounce of his satisfaction show on his face.
For the players on the arizona outlaws, there is only one way to settle disagreements and fights in the locker room. The players who fought have to have an old timey western duel, but with nerf guns. As one of the most senior players on the team, Chuck Roth often breaks up the fights and officiates the nerf gun duels. He likes to make them take place in his back yard, and will generally have a cookout after to celebrate the argument being settled.
This time, the argument was between two rookies that Chuck did not remember the name of. There's just too many new faces in the locker room and Chuck is nearing the end of his career. Coach Crunk and Coach Simo appreciate Chuck's diplomacy and tend to place bets on who they think will win the duel. Chuck made some of his Memphis style BBQ in preparation for his restaurant opening , and it was a huge hit.
Well, it finally happened. I guess it was only a matter of time. Tensions were high after a recent New York loss and the Silverbacks were in a foul mood as they re-entered the locker room after the game. Two individuals, in particular, seemed to be going at it way more than anyone else. It was offensive lineman Bob Roberts and cornerback Dax Dangerfield. The two were blaming each other for the loss.
"You're going to get our quarterback killed out there. You can't even block someone on Twitter!", yelled Dangerfield. "You're like a Walmart greeter out there, only there to say hello to the wide receiver as they pass you by!", retorted Roberts. The two players nearly came to blows as the rest of the team tried to hold them back. Names like "Trash" and "Blob" were hurled back and forth. For a moment it seemed like things would start to escalate again, but then the team reminded the two that they both sucked. All Dangerfield and Roberts could do was shrug and nod. Fight over. |
