Hmmmmm this might not be the best question to be asking a San Jose Sabrecat at this moment in time. We currently lead the league in penalties with 48 penalties from 6 games, an average of 8 penalties per game! So, it seems discipline is certainly an issue this season. This could be to do with the relatively high turnover of players recently in San Jose, a lot of younger guys stepping up, including our quarterback. This could certainly be the crux of the issue. As a team, we prefer to keep a good locker room atmosphere and chewing guys out for stupid penalties seems counter productive in this instance. The best way is for the players friends to rally round, work out why the penalties are happening and help them work on that side of their game. A healthy dose of ridicule certainly helps focus the mind, maybe giving someone on the O-line a ‘false starter of the week’ prize in front of everyone?
How do the New York Silverback Coaches keep the mighty gorillas that play for the silverbacks in bay while they wait to play their next game? It is quite simple they bribe them using bananas and other things to keep them happy and docile inbetween the games and the practives and other stuff. it is a very interesting ordeal and i believe it has helped the silverbacks continue to be a good orgainzation that is able to control wild apes lke that and it is something that we are thilled to be able to continue too do. the way we reward these silverbacks instead of using something like fear as a motivating factor is how we continue too be one of the best teams at controlling and maintaining relationships with the monke and how we are able to keep winning games and it is paying off in a massive way as usually
There is a lot of ways to control a team of people on a team but the best way to do it is to do a sort of military style very harsh system in place because that ensures no one can actually misbehave and do something stupid. Really, what you want to do is just be a bit of a dick to them. Take away their phones so they can't get into trouble on social media. Keep them in their rooms with bedtimes so that no one goes out partying and drinking the night before a big game. You really want to treat them like kids and ensure no one is being an idiot and ruins the game. practices should also be very harsh and demanding so everyone is super tired and just wants to sleep at a reasonable time anyway and kinda just make sure that you can do whatever you can to make sure they are all well behaved and easy.
I was surprised to learn that in New York the solution to fixing player's mental mistakes is rather simple. In the event a player should get a penalty, especially one that is untimely and leads to big play in the game, the player is strapped to a chair, eyelids taped open, and forced to watch on repeat the video of Harambe from the Cincinnati Zoo. It may sound harsh and antithetical to a team of gorillas, but the idea is that each player can see the results that can happen from one simple mistake. Letting your kid get to close to the gorilla enclosure could mean death for a magnificent beast, just like getting an unnecessary block in the back while your teammate busts a big gain can lead to the death of a beautiful drive, and in some more serious cases... the death of a season. And perhaps, in my waning seasons, the death of a career. Each NY player has this fear constantly in the back of their mind, and the extreme consequences of screwing up have led us to be a pretty successful team when it comes to penalties. Or so I feel in my heart. I haven't really looked a tthe stats of it.
It's actually quite the opposite in Arizona. It's encouraged to lose your temper and remain extremely emotional. Some say it's toxic, but the true football guys know it's passion. If you're not the angriest guy in the locker room after a devastating lose, then do you even care? If you're no cussing out your teammate after he commits a penalty, are you really holding him accountable? There's the saying "keep your friends close and your enemies closer". It's also commonly mentioned that team chemistry is more important than overall skill. Well, what better way to get a team nice and tight by having everyone of your teammates be your enemy. It's these unique approaches taken by the management at Arizona that has lead them to winning season after winning season. "oH tHaT dOeSn'T sOuNd fUn" the nerds may say. Well you know what is fun? Winning. You know what's not fun? Losing. So go ahead and be buddy with your teammates. I'm going to continue to hate mine.
As a member of the Bondi Beach Buccaneers, our goal is to keep our cool in every situation because we have targets on our back being the reigning champions. People want to see us react, so it is best for us to keep our calm, remain with the highest level of composure and never let ourselves get out of hand. In order to maintain our composure, we always work alongside our teammates to keep our tempers and attitudes in check. We were taught that the best first step is to walk away from a situation that could cause you to react, and frankly, that has saved us in many situations. Knowing that we are a part of something bigger, something we represent, a logo on our chest that means more than just a game to us has been beneficial to help keep us clean in many tough situations. As a wise person once said, never let them see you sweat, and that’s our goal, we keep our emotions in check because it puts fear in the eyes of the opponent.
Luckily for us, we hail from the great city of Tijuana. So we have plenty of outlets to help us get over, cope with, forget, or just plain get some anger out. As a team we believe in every one is responsible for how we play. A win or loss is never one players fault or because of them. As a team we have to play better if we want to win. As a team we need to cut back on our mistakes. So we definitely have our team meetings after each game to talk about what worked and what did not work well for us. As the quarter back, I definitely have to play better for us to win. The more interceptions I throw, the less likely we are going to win the game, regardless of how well every one else plays. So, I am trying out some different foods before and after each game to see which ones help me play better and help minimize mistakes. I do think really greasy foods do not help me with throwing the football. I know, weird that greasy hands can cause issues for someone trying to throw the ball down the field. But, you have to live and learn if you want to get better and improve as a footballer and a chef. We eat as a team and we win or lose as a team.
