Hello everyone! This is the second article in our S41 draft prospect analysis, a collaboration between @aeonsjenni and @wizard_literal. This article will cover the S41 Wide Receiver class. You can see the introduction to this series, which explains some of our analysis and research, HERE. As it stands, other articles are being written in regards to the following position groups, and will link them as they are released:
We have received some feedback from some league veterans and GM's on our team pipeline research, and have updated our analysis accordingly. The old article has been edited to correct this feedback. This time around we have wizard_literal on play-by-play and aeonsjenni on color commentary. Please enjoy!
WRs
This wide receiver class is absolutely stacked, with seven max-earning WRs and a great deal of users who don’t quite max-earn but punch above their weight elsewhere. The class is also very well-balanced, with 6 re-creates and 6 active new-creates. A look at the budget sheet tells us that the teams most immediately in need of a wide receiver are, in order of need, greatest to least: Colorado, San Jose, Yellowknife, New York, Austin, Orange County, and Sarasota. I imagine many teams will be happy to draft a high earning wide receiver but the depth of this class will mean that most of these users will be fielding many questions about their willingness to change positions.
Maximum-Earning
Oliver Tolliver-@Memento Mori-
Speed Receiver
Re-create, Graphics, League Job, Podcast, Big Bank, ,
“Let’s lead off the Wide Receiver class with infamous Rookie Mentor Memento Mori! A long standing member of the league Memento Mori retired hall of fame Cornerback Brandon Booker early last year before taking a brief hiatus from the league. Brandon Booker played an astounding 13 seasons and sits at 4th highest all time for TPE earned before regression at 1515 TPE. So after coming off such a successful career why did Mori take a break instead of immediately recreating? Quite simply this is a player who doesn’t give anything less than 100% to his player and his team. If it weren’t for the next Receiver I’m about to cover, Oliver Tolliver would be far and away the top Wide Receiver prospect in this class. I’m sure I could ramble on a bit longer, but I’d rather urge you to go read Memento Mori’s article detailing his return to the league linked below.” - wizard_literal
MEMENTO MORI’S ARTICLE
“Memento Mori and I share a locker room at Bondi Beach, and I really could not be happier for it. He’s been a great presence who clearly knows the ins and outs of the league and is happy to help new players. I fully expect him to be drafted in the first round. His profile picture on discord is that of an otter, so expect Orange County to have their eyes on him to return to them for what will likely be another fantastic career.” - Jenni
Wolfie McDummy Jr.-@infinitempg-
Speed Receiver
Re-create, Graphics, League Job, Media, Big Bank,
“General Managers and Team Owners beware, infinitempg might just have the bankroll to outright buy the entire organization of any team that’s fortunate enough to get their paws on this Wolf. Wide Receiver Wolfie McDummy Jr. has a loud enough bark to speak for himself. So instead I’m going to take a moment to honk on about infinitempg’s previous player Busch Goose.
w!honk
honk honk honk honk honk honk honk honk honk honk honk honk
No wait that didn’t come out quite right. What I meant to say was Runningback Busch Goose played 11 straight seasons for the Baltimore Hawks totaling 22,800 career all purpose yards to go along with a S33 Ultimus championship victory. Goose might not make it into the HoF, but the bird sure did earn a total of 2081 TPE over their entire career including regression, good for 30th all time. My league sources weren’t able to turn up any information on whether infinitempg will be looking to return to Baltimore, but with The Hawks not picking until the 5th round don’t be surprised if this dog goes somewhere else.” - wizard_literal
“This pervasive pidgey has left his mark on almost every facet of the league. Look in the corner of any wolfieBot message or draft day graphic and you’ll see his name. More important than any of that though is his welcoming attitude. He was a big part in helping me figure out how the league worked and of course he’s the one who let me get my hands on ISFL play-by-play data, so I feel a great sense of gratitude towards this user. I believe that between his activity in the Colorado locker room, the Dallas to Colorado pipeline, and Colorado’s desperate need for a great wide receiver, I would be very surprised if McDummy Jr. fell past the Yeti in the first round. All of that being said, to take infinitempg any earlier than the fifth round would be a massive reach.” - Jenni
Artemis Entreri-@entreri-
Speed Receiver
New-create, Media
“I made a grievous error in not including Entreri in my DSFL mock draft, so I’ll try to make up for it here. The Greyducks premier Wideout Artemis Entreri is the first of our max-earning newcreates in this positional group. Minnesota obviously saw what I missed in the predraft process and was quick to snatch up Artemis in the first round at 6th overall. While Artemis Entreri was hitting the weights and doing crunches, user Entreri was crunching spreadsheet numbers in their article on DSFL TPE Draft Analysis. Don’t be surprised if they make the first round list again for the ISFL draft.” - wizard_literal
“I disagree with the wizard here, as I’d be at least a little surprised if Entreri was taken in the first round, barring openness to position-swapping, considering the lack of team need for wideouts and the shining resumés of the two receivers discussed above. That being said, Artemis Entreri is easily a top-5 wide receiver in this class, and it is nevertheless likely that he will be picked up in the early rounds.” - Jenni
Legs McMillion-@jollyjiggs-
Return Specialist
New-create, Media, League Job
“The rumor around the league is jollyjigs got chastised once for skipping leg day, and has never been the same since that day. Legs McMillion is the odds on favorite for Offensive Rookie of the Year in my books sitting at 608 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns. The only DSFL receivers above that mark are ISFL send downs. The onfield performance very much reflects jollyjig’s dedication to the league in his first season as a max earner. Here’s a reminder to all you ISFL GMs, don’t skip leg day and don’t skip out on drafting Legs McMillion.” - wizard_literal
“With articles like DSFL Average Positional Speed Rankings and Rarest Positional Archetypes, jollyjigs has quickly established himself as one of the top media-creators of the draft class. He’s also made two videos for power rankings in the DSFL, but in a regrettable and unwise act ranked Bondi Beach as #8 and #7 in the league, cursing him to receive -1,000 draft points from me. However, the great concept and character that is Legs McMillion easily balances that out.” - Jenni
Emile Charles-@Number 82-
Speed Receiver
Re-create, Graphics, Big Bank,
“GFX graders only fear one thing, and that’s the sheer quantity of graphics Number 82 can put out. Following a trend for recreates in this class we have another Defensive Back turned Wide Receiver. Having previously played at Safety for the Hahalua, user “Number 82” is taking his GFX bank roll of 195K and making a triumphant return to the league. Perhaps it’s too early to say whether Honolulu will be looking to bring him back, but I’m sure this Wide Receiver will be a hot commodity regardless of where he ends up.” - wizard_literal
“On top of the aforementioned graphics-creating prowess, Number 82 is responsible for the winning Ultimus Host City bid, which is proof enough that they’re not just a one-trick-pony. Expect Emile Charles to be taken early.” - Jenni
Benji Aguilera-@CROney3-
Possession Receiver
New-create, Media, League Job
“Finally I get to throw my journalistic integrity out the window and let my Luchadore pride shine through. CROney3 is the most dedicated newcreate Receiver in the S41 class. I once saw him save a litter of kittens from a burning house AND he still had time to work at his local soup kitchen later that day. In all seriousness CROney3 has shown nothing but passion for the league since day one. He’s been an active presence in the Tijuana locker room, has been putting out fun media articles on a consistent basis, and will be a WFC GM this upcoming offseason. You’re making a calamitous error if he’s not the top newcreate WR on your draft board.” - wizard_literal
“CROney3 is nothing if not active in the league discords, apparently choosing to double-dip discord money as his primary earning method. What’s nice though is that he manages to be friendly and earnest in his constant presence, and has what is honestly the most bizarre attachment to ISFL fantasy football and user bets, and has written media articles about them both. I’m a big fan.” - Jenni
Forozka Duanei-@BWIII-
Speed Receiver
Re-create,
“Fantasy Football guru BWIII is the last of our max-earning tier wide receivers in this class. There is a bit of a history gap for this user between recreating and the last time they were active, but it looks like BWIII was a very dedicated user going as far back as S14. I’m hesitant to tie them to CTC given it’s been a few years since they’ve been active in the league, but who knows how deep team legacy and loyalty goes. Don’t let recent inactivity fool you, they certainly have the bankroll to have a sustained career. Don’t count them out yet!” -wizard_literal
“BWIII was once a GM for the Philadelphia Liberty so for the sake of throwing a hot take out there I’m going to disagree and say that they are guaranteed to be drafted by the Crash.” - Hot Take Queen Jenni
Moderate-Earning
. The Riddler-@MattBake12-
Return Specialist
Re-create, ,
“It is kicked many times, it never sheds a tear but it may tear. What is it Batman? A Football! MattBake12 is a user with history in the league dating back to 2021. Having previously played Linebacker under the moniker “Dominos Pizzaman” for The Crash in season 39, he’s chosen to recreate at Wide Receiver. The real riddle here is whether either CTC or OCO will be looking to pick The Riddler back up as he has history with both teams.” - wizard_literal
“This player gets -1,000,000 points from me for trying to make a name that would look just awful on the play-by-play sheet. Riddle me this: what kind of first name is . ? Thankfully whoever imported the name into the sim decided to do away with that nonsense. Other than that this user clearly has the experience and activity to warrant a high pick, plus I think anyone who puts that kind of effort and creativity into their player concept is going far.” - Jenni
LeAnthony LeDavis-@subby500-
Speed Receiver
New-create
“LeAnthony Davis is a late joiner whose initial updates were absolutely on point. Davis completed the entirety of his Rookie Point Task to go along with a Media introductory article. Don’t let the lack of Roster Page updates fool you subby500 is still very active! Davis easily warrants a late round flier and could be an absolute draft steal for any team that takes the gamble.” - wizard_literal
“This user’s intermittent updating will probably drop their draft stock to among the lowest of the moderate-earning wide receivers, but I agree with the wizard in that they definitely qualify as having the makings of a potential draft steal.” - Jenni
Sean Robinson-@18situaseans-
Possession Receiver
New-create, Media, Graphics
“Living in the shadow of Legs McMillions isn’t easy, but Sean Robinson is the light in the dark. Between his “Ultimus Host Bid” and “S41 WR Draftees” media pieces Robinson certainly shows the initiative that should catch the eyes of a few GMs. If he can get his TPE earnings up a little bit this is one of the premier S41 Wideouts to watchout for.” - wizard_literal
“I’m a fan of this user because he seems to be proud of his Bay Area roots, and is likely a 49ers fan like myself. I think he’s a great example of a user who will need a little push to get his earning up, but otherwise will be an active and engaged user in the locker room for the team that drafts him.” - Jenni
Diego López Alonso-@DL14-
Slot Receiver
New-create, Podcast, League Job
“The 2nd round London DSFL draft pick Diego López Alonso is a young user who has shown a capacity to learn and grow during his rookie season. Having already thrown his hat in the ring for a WFC GM job show this young spark is eager to learn and contribute. While his production on the field is without question, he’ll need to boost his off field earnings to see his draft capital rise. With a current bank balance of -$850,000 there are questions whether he can keep up with weekly training and seasonal equipment purchases.” - wizard_literal
“A friendly guy who can name every single country in the world, this user is also looking to potentially start a podcast. As the wizard said, money will be the biggest concern for this user, and a podcast would be a great way to start fixing that.” - Jenni
Low-Earning
Orga Panda-@juniped-
Return Specialist
Re-create, Podcast,
“The first of two top tier Pandas we’ll be discussing for the S41 draft. Juniped is a veteran re-create on his 3rd player having formerly played for The Crash as both a Wide Receiver and Offensive Lineman. This go-around he’s created a Return Specialist topping out at 84 agility which is best among Wide Receivers for this class. I’ve personally had the pleasure of interacting with him in the Tijuana locker room, and while his activity is sporadic, he has a colorful personality that would be a boon to any team that drafts him.” - wizard_literal
“Juniped made a podcast along with Hallmonitor_20, where he mentioned wanting to focus on being a top returner for his current player. I imagine that means he’s not especially keen on changing positions, though that remains to be seen. I do hope he continues to make podcasts, though. It was an enjoyable listen even if it was very ramble-y.” - Jenni
Garrett Cheetahman-@Porkypig78-
Return Specialist
Inactive
“Clocking in at 80 miles per hour, or 105 kilometers per hour for you metric enthusiasts, Garrett Cheetahman bolted straight into inactive status. They won’t be an ISFL return specialist anytime soon, but hopefully one day we can see this user return to the league.” - wizard_literal

Slim Reaper-@Blacchollywoodd-

“As we all know by now Norfolk GM @lordcoolcats strictly drafts Wide Receivers on the merit of their names. Slim Reaper is a cool player name, but you know what’s not cool? Being inactive.” - wizard_literal
