Do you know what I bring to a team? pancakes. I will be your premier pancake making expert if you draft Dan the man. Pancakes on sundays? yes. buckwheat pancakes? yes. those weird protein pancakes? whatever floats your boat but I'll make it. And of course the all important pancakes on the field? I'll be making those more than anyone else in the league. As an OL I'll make sure that the QB is always protected, no sacks allowed and I'll push those defenders as far away from the QB as possible, giving him plenty of time to throw some bombs down the field. Off the field I'm going to be they guy in the locker room hyping up everyone before a game, making sure that the adrenaline is pumping and every single player gives 110% in every game. Teams should take a chance on Dan Dandrews because Dan Dandrews is going to be the greatest offensive lineman that your team has ever had and he's gonna be a critical part  in being able to lift up a few trophies.

The grey ducks next stadium is gonna need some serious new accommodations for the players, anything to help us win a championship right? First off we're definitely gonna need a 12 person sauna, players need to be able to relax both before and after a game to be able to perform to their peak athletic ability. To counteract the sauna, we're also gonna need a full room of icebaths to aid all of those hurting muscles after a game, a quick plunge in those will get us ready for next week. Next we'll need a full VR training facility with those full motion VR stations to not only watch tape but be able to experience it again, sure all of this stuff might be a little expensive but it will all be worth it for the cup. For the fans, we're gonna need a whole beer garden near center field where the fans can grab brews from all over the world. For the rough weather in Minnesota we'll definitely need a dome that can be opened and closed for when it snows and for those two months in the summer when it's actually nice.

Dan Dandrews lives and breaths football, it's his whole life and it's hard to imagine a life where he wasn't in the ISFL. That being said, if he wasn't a professional football player than he'd certainly be a chef. Not only can he cook up pancakes on the field, he's also a pro on the stove. Dan actually loves watching food network in his free time which makes him feel like a pro chef already. He could of easily perfected his craft in the kitchen if he put even half the effort that he put into football. Even with all the time he spends on football, in his free time you can find Dan baking bread and cooking up a nice healthy meal for him and his teammates. Maybe he could have actually stayed in football and be a nutritionist for a DSFL or ISFL team, he could help teams win championships from the sidelines. I think Dan has the potential to even cook at some fancy restaurants, he certainly knows how to eat all this nice food, so why wouldn't he bae able to cook it.

Cornerbacks Synystyr Gates and Dino Nuggets got a lot of the attention for the Tijuana Luchadores defense last season, but Honey Humphries is someone who deserves recognition. The strong safety finished the year with 45 tackles, just two missed tackles, one sack, and seven pass deflections. He provided consistency in the defensive backfield and allowed Gates and Nuggets to be more aggressive in jumping routes. That paid huge dividends as Gates was tied for the league lead in interceptions with seven. Arguably more importantly, however, Humphries was always a team player. He was positive in the locker room and was friendly to all teammates. Humphries was the ultimate team player. As a late round pick in the S42 DSFL Draft, Humphries proved to be one of the bigger steals and capped a stellar rookie class that included Suave Cruz, the aforementioned Nuggets, and Wing Wang. Humphries isn’t going to be up for any awards, but without him the Luchadores might not be holding up the Ultimini trophy this season. He’s going to make one ISFL team very happy.

4. For any team, certain players and users have gone above and beyond, shaping the legacy of the franchise. Choose any ISFL or DSFL team and create a Mount Rushmore for that team. Who in your mind are the four most noteworthy figures of the team’s history? Why does each one of your included figures deserve that recognition, and how did each of them make their mark?

I've been on the New York Silverbacks for a few seasons now and I've done my best to learn the history of the team and those who I would consider the greatest of all time in the New York Silverbacks franchise. Now I myself am trying every day to solidify my spot in the "Mount Rushmore" of the New York Silverbacks but there are a lot of other players WAY more deserving of that title than me of course. If I had to shoot off a couple of names to make my Mount Rushmore I would have to look at who holds records in the franchise. We'll start off with some of the offensive players of course, I'm Canadian and off the top of my head I have no idea how many presidents there are on Mount Rushmore so I'm Googling it....riiigghhttt.....now. There are only four? The New York Silverbacks deserve more than four greatest of all time players. Let's get to it. OFFENSE.
Records don't lie, and looking at who holds the most passing records for a New York Silverbacks Quarterback spot number one goes to Sam Howitzer, with thirty four thousand three hundred and fifty six career passing yards and a seven point one-one-nine passing average, I think that solidifies Sam in spot number one, and honourable mention obviously goes to Malcolm Savage who was the quarterback when I started my career with the Silverbacks.


Up second you got to go with somebody who rushes the ball on this one, the run game is just as important as the passing game. I know it's extremely difficult to include someone who is still currently playing in the league and consider them a Mount Rushmoreworthy player but Michaelangelo McTurtle does not mess around when it comes to running with the football. Currently, McTurtle holds the New York Silverbacks rushing yards record with SEVEN THOUSAND and sixteen yards and is extremely close to holding the rushing touchdowns record being only six touchdowns behind Silverbacks alumni Captain Rodgers, and if you are wondering why I didn't choose Captain Rodgers who has his name all over the rushing records, I picked McTurtle because not only is he very close and will most likely hold the records in his remaining years with the silverbacks but he is an outstanding person with a big heart and I wouldn't want to see anyone else on top of this list. 

Moving on to the receiving records and the receiver who will sit atop the New York Silverbacks Mount Rushmore. Hands down this honor has to go to Tugg Speedman, Speedman holds just about every record in receiving for the Silverbacks, it's extremely tough to hold onto every record except for one in a franchise but Tugg Speedman did just that eight hundred and ninety seven receptions, eleven thousand five hundred and one receiving yards, and seventy five receiving touchdowns, there must not have been a single game where this guy wasn't "Mossing" the secondary to put his team up on top! 

And now for the moment you've all been waiting for, oh yes, the DEFENSE!!!!! Everyone knows the saying "Offense wins games, but Defense wins CHAMPIONSHIPS" and in my own personal totally unbiased opinion that saying is one hundred percent FACTUAL. Let's get into the juicy stuff here.


Probably one of the most important defensive players to ever play for the Black and Green, holding the all time career tackles and tackles for loss records, it's the man I look up to and want nothing more than to try and beat his records, it's Sakeem Webb. Sakeem played a long time for the Silverbacks and in that time he managed to rack up  nine hundred and twenty two tackles for the Silverbacks and sixty five tackles for loss. Now you may be asking yourself this "Hammer how in earth do you think you'll ever be able to beat Sakeem's records?" Well ladies and gentlemen, I'm not that far behind and if I do accomplish this goal I've set myself that does not mean that Sakeem should be replaced by me in the Silverbacks Mount Rushmore because he has done his hard work and deserves to be up there just as much as anyone else, I'm just wanting to not only win championships here in New York but I want to leave a legacy behind. I am five hundred and forty four tackles behind Sakeem, thirty one tackles for loss, and sixty sacks away from holding all of those records, and no one will believe in me more than myself.


Moving on to the secondary positions, Dax Dangerfield has done an outstanding job with the Silverbacks, no one can deny that he is a highlight player for the Black and Green. Dax holds the passes deflected record with two hundred and one and is tied for second with defensive touchdowns all time. Dax is known for locking down wide receivers and making quarterbacks all across the league think twice before throwing to their side. 


There are many players who deserve to be on the mount rushmore of the New York Silverbacks but these were just a few that I believe have done what they had to do to help their team succeed. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope you pray for me and my record breaking abilities.

First and foremost, Bruce wants to see the New Orleans Second Line add a few Beignet stands all throughout the stadium. With Bruce having a new partnership and contract with Cafe Du Monde, it only makes sense for the New Orleans second line to add a place where fans can go get those tasty, tasty powdered sugar-covered fried dough delights. The other thing Bruce would like to see the New Orleans second line add to their brand-new stadium is a better state-of-the-art workout facility. what Bruce would really like to see is a section of the new workout facility dedicated specifically to real-life, real man functional lifting. so Bruce would like to see a portion of the workout facility dedicated to posthole digging, hay bale stacking, wood chopping, and horseback riding. The only other thing Bruce would want to be added to the stadium is a series of bull riding stations for fans to have fun with during the games.

If my current position of defensive end hadn't been available whenever I was picking my position in the ISFL, I most likely would have gone with either quarterback or wide receiver. I was very interested in going with quarterback whenever I first joined the ISFL, but veterans of the league did a good job of making sure I understood that quarterback may not be the best experience for a new user of the league. That being said, I am still very interested in playing quarterback in the ISFLat some point, but I'm extremely happy that I chose defensive end and I think it's one of the more intriguing positions to play in the ISFL. I think wide receiver could be really fun too, especially if I choose to go the route with my next play render that I am considering which is a tiny baby named Bob Wehadababyitsaboy. There are a few other positions I wouldn't mind playing on the defensive side of the ball as well like linebacker cornerback, or defensive tackle.

I really do think that Bruce White has made a pretty good case for Defensive Rookie of the Year. I know he may not have gotten the flashiest stat for a defensive lineman, which is sacks galore, but what Bruce did bring to the table could be considered just as valuable and just as important to a defense as sacks. I think Bruce's ability to get into the backfield and tackle running backs and quarterbacks before crossing the line of scrimmage and racking up those tackles for a loss, is something that should absolutely be considered when thinking about Defensive Rookie of the Year. If you look at the names that Bruce White was alongside as the tackles for a loss leader, there were no other rookies who were even close to getting the same amount of TFLs as Bruce. His ability to impact the game even when he's not getting to the quarterback shouldn't be understated, and Bruce should absolutely be considered for Defensive Rookie of the Year.

I actually like a lot of the branding for all of the teams in the ISFL and DSFL. I think people have done a really good job with branding around every single team except for one. I might get a lot of crap for this, and I'm willing to deal with that,  but I think the one team that needs the biggest and most substantial rebranding out of any team in the ISFL is my own team the New Orleans second line. I understand the history and the meaning behind the second line, but it is such an obscure and nonsensical reference to something that's specifically New Orleans. there are so many other things about New Orleans that could be used as a reference or as a brand for the team, and I think that a major rebranding could bring that out. I don't necessarily mind the color scheme of the team, although I think it could be better, but having the second line as a mascot is a little dumb. it would be cool if we had the second line in the crowd to play music during games, but why would we have that as the mascot when we could be the Gators, the  Hurricanes, or my personal favorite the Voodoo. New Orleans is in need of a major rebrand.

Task 18:

What my future GMs and teammates will appreciate most about me is that I’m a good presence in the locker room. I respond to pings and don’t get all salty about it. I’ll post pics of my dogs sometimes. I probably won’t help you scout though (I’m sorry, I know scouting is tedious.)

The benefit that a team would gain from drafting Wing Gundam to play as their defensive end would be unimaginable. Wing will serve as full time security service for the team. When not on the road, the unit will roam the stadium to deter security incidents. Another benefit offered is that Wing Gundam cannot consume drugs or alcohol, and is non-biological. As a result, the team can rest easy in knowing that their team’s new defensive end won’t bring scandals or suspensions or league discipline with them.

Beyond human endurance, drive, and reaction time… is it true? Wing Guardian says “Affirmative.”


Task 19:

A new stadium means a new philosophy, and I’d like to submit this option: make the fans comfortable. First and foremost, we’re adding leg room to all of the seating aisles. Tall people can sit comfortably without their knees jamming into the backs of the people who are sitting in front of them. As an added bonus, it will give more space to walk when you encounter that awkward situation where someone comes back to their seats in the center of the row, so you have to stand up while they awkwardly shuffle step past you. Fan comfort agenda item number two: more restrooms. Everyone at the game is drinking excessively, and we all want to pee at the same time. However many restrooms you originally planned for – triple it. People need easy access to bathrooms, you barbarians. Third and final stadium item for the fans: expand the walkways and entrances to more easily accommodate high volumes of traffic. Those three implementations will make the new stadium the best in the league. I guarantee it.

Task 29:

There are a lot of teams across the ISFL and DSFL that have really great branding, but only one can reign supreme. Who is it, then, that holds the Branding Ultimus high in the air season after season? It can only be the Sarasota Sailfish. That’s a team who knows how to build a brand. They hit all of the factors that make a team interesting. First, an alliterative name. Sarasota Sailfish is fun to say, the two words flow well together, and the mascot is a strong logical choice for the location. On the topic of mascots, a sailfish is a great choice. Not too grimdark (looking at you, Wraiths and Butchers) but also not too cuddly (sorry Otters and Hahalua) – the Goldilocks position of threat level. Finally, they’ve nailed the color scheme. It’s an uncommon combination of colors, and the combination of blue, green, and white evokes the image of the sunny seawater. Congratulations, Sarasota! Other teams: you’re still great and I still love you. No hard feelings.

Between game days and during the off season, Wing Gundam has been working on the development of Gunmetal & Gridiron, a podcast centered around military veterans who have moved into the world of sports.

As a former galactic war veteran, Wing has no shortage of combat experience. Compared to contact with the enemy, a little Sunday afternoon football is a walk in the park. Those who have taken this unusual career path have a perspective on the game and the mentality of being a player that is interesting to the ISFL fan base at large.

This is a good way for the mobile suit defensive end to create some business and social networking connections across the industry. Guests will include teammates, other players, coaching staff, management & team ownership, as well as journalists and other professionals whose work puts them in the football industry. Stay tuned for Gunmetal & Gridiron, available wherever fictional podcasts can be heard; new episodes drop every fifth Tuesday of the month.

Two and a half years ago in real life, right around christmas of 2020, the Internation Simulation Football Leage changed sims from Draft Day Sports Pro Football 2016 to Draft Day Sports Pro Football 2021. It was a change that many people were incredibly skeptical of and a change that took a large amount of time to adjust from all the... intricacies... of the old sim, and a lot of people were very upset that sim testing was no longer something that could be done with any modicum of accuracy in a reasonable amount of time. Because it was so long ago, I will use this space to write about the previous sim and how it all worked so that some of the newer users can see how this current iteration of the sim, although a massive pain in the ass, is far and away better than what we used to have.

Throughout the Draft Day Sports Pro Football 16 days, starting a rookie QB essentially meant that you would be terrible until that QB got to 1000 or so TPE. Many times, that spelled an instantaneous demise for that team's next season or two and ushered in a window of rebuilding or retooling, depending on how strong your core was. In this current model of the sim, you can have a not great QB who still performs at insane levels due to the sim placing much more emphasis on ability and ratings at relevant statistics for the position.

Back then, you always tried to build strong offensive weapons and good skill position corners, and you always played your best safety at the SLB spot and they would always vastly overperform their opponents at LB, to the point where they had to completely redo awards to make it so that safeties playing in positions that gave them an advantage didn't hurt linebackers who actually wanted to play their position. On the offensive side of the ball, you could designate a TE as a FB and place them at WR, and for whatever reason they would way overperform what they should. Something about being a FB and also playing WR just gave them ridiculous stats, and it's entirely unknown why that was. You also could abuse ye old 79 speed glitch, which would make you faster than pretty much any other player on the field and give you a ridiculous number of touchdowns and usually far better rushing stats than any running backs, depending on the situation you were in. You also very rarely had situations where anybody other than a quarterback won the MVP award due to running backs being largely inconsequential to a team's success. A team with a 1200+ QB and one 1000+ WR with a 1000 TE was going to have the same amount of success whether they had a 500 TPE RB or a 1300 TPE RB. It also really didn't matter near as much what TPE your defensive players had, as those statistics always felt like they were awarded largely at random, despite knowing the case wasn't actually that. Routinely, 400 TPE inactive defensive linemen outperformed maxed out players.

All of that does not even begin to touch the exhibition game mode that general managers and war room members used to test. Users could pull up exhibition mode and run an autoclicker with such speed that the game would play 500 exhibition games between whichever two teams you wanted in about 3 minutes, and then all you had to do was export the results into a google sheet and as long as you had all your calculations correct, it would spit out points for, points against, win-loss percentage, average passing yards, average rushing yards, average penalties, literally everything that you could ask for. And because this process took no more than 5 minutes, you could run 12 variations of tests in an hour, and if you had the free time and enough people, there were teams that could test over 150 test variations in sets of 500 for each and every gameday with no manual resets other than closing the sim every 5 minutes. The percentages you got from these were largely inaccurate though, as there was a penchant for teams testing between 75% and 85% to lose their games, and there was a penchant for teams testing under 20% to pull off ridiculous upsets but only in Ultimus and playoff games. The Orange County Otters won S18 with a 27% chance, and S19 with a 31% chance, while Colorado won S26 with 23%. It was incredibly frustrating and after the fact it was discovered that it's extremely unlikely exhibition games were not an accurate depiction of what might actually happen in the season scenario and that testing was more than likely completely useless, which i suppose is something that you'd want to find out afterwards than during, but incredibly soul crushing nonetheless after you gave literal days of your life trying to give your team the best chance to win and then it doesn't even matter.

I went way over 600 words here, but suffice it to say that this sim, while godawful in many ways, is vastly better than what we used to have and I have a new appreciation for it after typing all this and remembering how bad DDSPF 16 was.
