Other sports? There are other sports? Listen here kid, the only sport worth a damn is football. You hear me? How can you even begin to talk about other sports and expect me to care?
Nah just kidding. Aside from football I was pretty good at basketball. I tried baseball, but I just don't have the eyes and reaction time to hit a 90+ mph fastball. I played until I was 14 and moved on from it. I never cared about soccer, and lacrosse wasn't a thing around me. I am actually quite a good bowler, but that's maybe for another story.
Anyway, basketball was the sport I actually played most growing up. We played football too, but you don't need a group to play basketball. So growing up I'd go out there a lot, work on my layups, work on my shooting around the court. In-fact, I wouldn't go in until I made it around the world with 5 free throws in a row to finish it. Eventually you get good at shooting.
I made it to state in high school, we had a good team and I was one of the state's top shooting guards. I really liked playing basketball, there's something satisfying about the variety of ways the ball can go in. I also remember the first time I dunked, man the crowd went wild.
I got a few D1 offers, but I decided to pursue my time in football instead since it is my passion. I still shoot a lot, and sometimes wonder how far I could have gone in the NBA, but I have a good feeling about the NSFL.
