Before playing football, Desta Danger actually got his start playing both Rugby Union and Rugby league. He was a cross codes star being touted as one of the best American players in history and showing much promise. He was a vicious tackler, a hard runner, and was one of the best kickers in the game. It is actually rarely talked about but due to his experience kicking in Rugby, Danger was able to step in for half a season as the team’s punter after Arizona State’s punter went down with an injury. In fact, he had some of the most fun of his collegiate career punting the ball, beating half his team down the field, and smashing the punt returner all on his own. As a youth, Danger was fully preparing for a career overseas to play Rugby League in either Australia or England. However, this all changed when Danger arrived at college and was seen by Arizona State’s Football coach during Arizona State’s club team practice. He was immediately propelled into the world of NCAA football and the future stardom that came with the potential of the NFL. The rest is history. One of America’s brightest rugby talents never graced the pitch on the world stage. However, he is now hoping to translate his skills and succeed in the NSFL.
