Marcus Kane was born and raised to play football since he was knee-high to a grasshopper; imagining a different sport is a near impossible task. I suppose if we thought about it, the safety is built like a shortstop for baseball. You might wan to see a bit more height in the position but Kane makes up for it with a good blend of agility and smarts. The way Kane reads the play and is able to track down running backs and slot receivers could translate to a player who is able to read line-drives and haul in balls launched into the gap. Kane's strength for shedding blockers might also show up when the Philly native steps to the plate. Eye-hand might be lacking and Kane's average might not be what you want it to be but we expect the big man could launch a few Jacks over the wall every season. While Kane is fast in the open field it is unlikely that the safety turned linebacker would be much of a threat to steal. Baserunning is truly an art and those who do it well are often underappreciated around the sport of baseball. Jermaine Dye comes to mind when we think of a comparable for Marcus.
