I was sitting at home, watching the draft on television with my team from high school. Right around the time I thought I was going to be picked, we started having wifi connectivity issues, so we actually missed my name being called. But I'll tell ya, it was a hoot watching the video of the call, finally having people know how to pronounce my name and to the Seawolves no less! I definitely thought I'd be taking a more developmental role, but to be lining up marquee opposite Brock Landers, it's a dream come true. We had talked to Coach previously about the possibility of being taken by Norfolk, but with our network out we had no idea where I was being drafted. When my WR coach heard I got taken right at the top of the fourth, man he nearly fainted. I used to wear number nineteen during high school as a sort of tribute to him, since he was nineteen when he got the bone-marrow disease that stopped him from being able to play football. I told him, Coach, I'll wear number nineteen and every time I run across the endline it'll be like I'm running one in for ya. Well, it just meant a lot to him to be picked nineteenth overall, there really just weren't words to describe it.
