Coming out of college Johnny Snuggles was a highly sought after rookie. A rare combination of fantastic athlete and a position in great need may have artificially inflated his stock some, but he didn’t care, he loved the attention, as any cornerback would. He ended up going first overall in the DSFL draft to the Kansas City Coyotes. Snuggles had a decent, but not outstanding, season, but most importantly, the Coyotes brought home their first ever Ultimini. Then, the draft hype started for the NSFL. Snuggles had shown fantastic growth and proved to be a very valuable member of a great defense, but would people care? He was still playing a position of need throughout the league, but fellow CB Spencer Castle has put up a hell of a season too. Mock after mock came out with Snuggles on top, but does that really mean anything? The talking heads on ESPN sure act like they know what they’re talking about, but there’s a reason they’re on ESPN and not in the war room. Luckily for Snuggles, it was a short wait to find out. The “experts” were right for once! Snuggles was in fact going first overall to the very need Yellowknife Wraiths. Even better? Snuggles would be lining up with (and learning from) arguably the greatest CB to play the game, Dermott Lavelle.
