1) Playoff Predictions
I believe that Portland will defeat Tijuana in the Ultimini. Franklin Armstrong was so good this year and he is my pick for MVP, as he broke the passing TD record and the rest of Portland's offense is very solid. They have a versatile rushing attack, with 3 runningbacks over 450 yards for the season. Defensively, Portland has one of the best linebacking cores in the DSFL with 2 send downs in Leighton Lee and Gekyume Stokeley anchoring the defense. The secondary has a probable top 5 pick in Emondov Emoji and Richard D'Attoria V who is a top 3 safety prospect in terms of TPE. The Pythons have proven that they can beat the Luchadores with a 41-0 demolishment in week one. I believe that Portland has the talent and ability to beat Tijuana. Tijuana has Corvo Havran who was probably the 3rd best QB this season, but Armstrong outperformed him by miles. The Luchadores in general however just have less TPE than the Pythons. Their biggest chance is by utilizing the strong run game behind the great wall of Tijuana. But even then, with the linebackers on the Pythons, the run game may not be able to get going. I think Portland wins 31-24.
7) Next Year
Palm Beach has a strong chance at the Ultimini nect season. @PDXBaller and @dizzyDC are great GMs and they helped a lot of players stay active. Just within one season Palm Beach went from last in total TPE by a couple hundred, to being about middle of the pack. With that level of improvement they will be one of the top teams next season. It would also be truly special for them to win an Ultimini as it would be their last season before reverting back to a bot team. If we get some good send downs then there's a serious chance to contend. Palm Beach also shouldn't even have been as bad as we were this season because our scrambling quarterback wasn't able to run in the sim. Apollo Lange is active and wants to improve and he'll have a chance to be at max TPE at some point next year and that's going to give the Solar Bears a more dynamic offense as opposed to just Bortboy and Bigby. We also have great locker room chemistry and that leads to more activity and updating. Palm Beach will be a serious contender next season and they probably could've been in the playoff race up until the end if Lange was allowed to run in the sim.
11) Sit Down With a Star (Chase Jensen)
1. How does your experience with basketball affect your play style?
"Wow someone is doing a deep dive to find my basketball history. I thinks kg playing basketball helped me gain a little bit of shiftiness in my game which something not a lot of tight ends have. I might try to throw out little juke or side step every now and then and I think that comes from those early days of basketball."
2. What NSFL player do you look up to the most?
"Probably L'Alto of all the current players in the NSFL. That guy just goes out there and gives it his all every single game. Stats aren't everything to me but I think most people wouldn't be telling the truth if they said they didn't want to produce like him."
3. Would you come abck for a role with the Solar Bears after you retire?
"If the solar bears would have me I would love to come back as a tight end coach or something. Hell maybe just even as a mentor role of some sorts. I've loved my time in Palm Beach so far and it sucks that it will be coming to an end relatively soon."
4. What is the best dessert?
"My personal favorite desserts are apple pie or cheesecake. It would be pretty damn hard for me to pick between those two things. Hell I might put a little slice of both in my plate after dinner. Let's get crazy with it."
14) Going to Disneyland
The Ultimini didn't really have a performance that stood out as above the rest. It was a great team performance from Portland. The Python's runningbacks should honestly win a collective MVP with their 238 combined yards and a TD. They also all went over 5 YPC. But if I had to choose one individual to send to Disneyland, which I do, I would probably pick Franklin Armstrong. He had 3 touchdowns and despite his 3 interceptions he had a 83.8 QB rating which is somehow below his season average. That went along with his 247 yards and 70% completion rate. Outside of the interceptions this was a near perfect game for Armstrong. The other individual contender for MVP is NA Rkansas who is a bot player so he doesn't even count. And I think the Pythons would win without Rkansas, and they'd have no chance without Franklin Armstrong. Armstrong had the most influence on this Portland victory by far. Armstrong deserves to go to Disneyland with his family. Since he's from Canada I'm going to assume he's never been to Disney and so he's probably enjoying the park a lot. Armstrong and his family did their best to get on every ride and go to as many attractions as possible.
