Takeda Okura may not be the candidate for safety of the year, or even a starter on a good team, but he has heart. Coming from the second round in the draft, his story is unlike most top prospects. Faced with constant troubles and difficulties with the new expansion Copperheads, his life has been far from easy. But now, thanks to the youth and experience mixture being formed in the Austin locker room, he finally has faith in his team once more. Quietly he put up solid numbers for a safety at his position, and despite his lack of any skills he still is a very fast man. Wide receivers hate going against him in practice, and his rough demeanor inspires both his teammates and himself. It's a new year for Takeda, one of something he hadn't ever felt before in his career. Was it... hope? The time he spent messing around with his now friends, his teammates, was an experience like nothing else to him. Previously his teammates were nothing more than pawns being changed constantly, flipping or flopping however their coaches so desired. But the Copperheads head coach was different. He prided himself on continuity, and team chemistry. A life spent drowning in the hurricane that is the NSFL free agency can be a frightening one indeed. But coach AdamS provides a safe and secure blanket for his players, protecting them from the harsh reality of the world. The Copperheads may have been a terrible team in the past, but they're slowly making the playoffs, pushing top teams just a little further than they thought they might be pushed. Teams are starting to become wary of the future of this Copperhead squad. Perhaps one day, when they think they've escaped into the Ultimus, they'll find themselves falling down, poisoned by the Copperheads' bite.
