I think it is the key in any title defense to not ride too high off the success of the previous season. That is the challenge the Otters faced this off-season. We are very much aware of the fact that we needed some things to break very favorably our way to win each of the last two, so we can't assume that the next is given, even as we continue to improve. If anything the Wraiths have only improved this season, adding star wide receiver Sunnycursed to their roster. Yes, they have some aging players, but that is not a team that is going to fall off the map any time soon. Arizona was still a very formidable opponent last season, and looks to be in similarly good shape this season. New Orleans is a team that will soon ascend to the ranks of the league's most competitive. The Colorado Yeti are in a similar boat. The Baltimore Hawks are still a factor. Austin is a young team who should only improve on last season's success. There are perhaps more threats in the league right now than there have ever been. With that in mind, the most we can do is just focus on improving ourselves so that we can take any of them toe-to-toe when the time comes. So our players did their best to forget last season, and hopefully Season 17 feels like a distant memory at this point. Instead, we tried to dedicate all of the energy and exuberance from winning into just getting better. A three-peat hasn't been achieved since Season 6, so we have an uphill climb to pull it off now.
