50. (S1) TE - Gabriel Tenzini || New Entry - @princekyle
Average Grade: 42.5
Tenzini is the first ever player placed on the list. A member of the Baltimore Hawks, Tenzini has since moved on to the Las Vegas Legion where he will see great playing time. This year he was the unchallenged #1 tight end, and will likely continue that role in Las Vegas. With over 400 receiving yards this season for the Hawks and three touchdowns. His offensive presence was a huge part of his game, but his role as a tight end allowed him an impact on defense as well. With twenty two pancakes on the year and only one sack allowed, Tenzini put up a very solid season.
49. (S1) S - Alex Hansen || New Entry - @acki
Average Grade: 42.5
Hansen is the second player on our list, coming in at 49th overall. Hansen spent the whole season in Yellowknife, helping lead the Wraiths to the playoffs and allowing them to get the stellar record they did with his great secondary play on defense. Hansen had no troubles claiming the top safety position in Yellowknife, his only competition being Pablo Sanchez who quickly showed he didn't have the skills to make it in the NSFL. Hansen had an excellent statistical season, racking up 74 tackles which is a phenomenal number for a safety, as well as three sacks, an interception, and a forced sack. His all around contribution to his team is what places Hansen on this list.
48. (S1) S - Vikain Marmaledov || New Entry - @Vikain
Average Grade: 42.25
Vikain Marmaledov narrowly took his spot over Alex Hansen by only a quarter of a vote for 48th Overall, but he deserves this higher ranking. Marmaledov is a player you likely haven't heard much about as he's been fairly quiet around the site since being drafted, but he's been a solemn leader for the Yeti this year from the defensive team. This year he made 62 tackles and force not one, but two fumbles and a sack, alongside an outstanding four interceptions on the season. The extent of Marmaledov's ranking can not be talked about purely in terms of his success in tackles, because this was a player who committed himself to every part of the game this entire season.
47. (S1) QB - Ethan Hunt || New Entry - @daBenchwarmer
Average Grade: 41.75
Hunt was part of the first trade in NSFL history, being dealt for defensive tackle Bert Metas. His original home, Orange County, was a breeding ground of controversy mostly generated by a three (at one point four) man battle for the starting quarterback position for the Otters. Hunt ended up being moved to San Jose to replace Jameis Christ and posted great stats to finish off the season. Hunt landed a solid 1209 passing yards this season, six touchdowns and only three interceptions on the season. This was one of the best performances from any player this year in terms of straight skill. If Hunt could find more playing time, he could explode into a role as a menace of a quarterback next season.
46. (S1) CB - Philippe Carter || New Entry - @enigmatic
Average Grade: 41.75
Philippe Carter was the shock of the entire draft come the third overall pick for the Colorado Yeti, who snagged him with their first ever draft pick. Since then, Carter has become an irreplaceable member of the NSFL and a solid player on the Yeti's back-end. He's even take on as a role as a mini general manager for the Colorado Yeti and was reportedly the creator of the Las Vegas Legion logo as well as the Yellowknife Wraiths logo. Carter posted 56 tackles this season, but his top statistic that has GM's talking is his four interceptions he accumulated this year. His pairing on the back end with Marmaledov made the one two punch of taking over possession from even the best of quarterbacks.
45. (S1) CB - Dirk Cutter || New Entry - @CaptainCats
Average Grade: 41.5
Dirk Cutter might be surprise to some to be ranked ahead of a player like Carter, but what sets him apart is his defensive touchdown he scored earlier this season. Cutter can be seen around the league often, contributing in multiple ways and being a solid team player. Cutter had 45 tackles this season, and was yet another secondary player to piece together four interceptions. The amount of turned over balls between these three is astounding, and really speaks to the skill of the league's secondaries.
44. (S1) DT - Franklin Harris || New Entry - @Apache_Chief
Average Grade: 41
Franklin Harris pulls in at number 44 this season after having a solid season the defensive end of the ball. This Orange County Otters DT put up magnificent numbers in his rookie season in the league, and was a great member of the community since joining prior to the inaugural draft. Harris started off the season with a bang, and continued right to the end, grabbing 56 total tackles and an absolutely incredible 12 sacks on opposing QB's. Harris' game is mostly defined by his unrelenting pressure and ability to jump the line and get the sack.
43. (S1) LB - Ian Bavitz || New Entry - @Molarpistols
Average Grade: 41
The next player on this season's list is star linebacker and likely all-pro player Ian Bavitz. Bavitz has been extremely dedicated to this league, and has made some of the biggest developments in terms of player growth since the start of the season. Bavitz has recorded a massive 100 tackles this season, along with 4 sacks and an interception (something difficult to do as a linebacker). His continued development of his all around game will make Bavitz into an unstoppable force that opposing offenses should be terrified of.
42. (S1) DE - Everest Teagarden || New Entry - @xfactorx121
Average Grade: 41
Teagarden may a surprise player to many on this list, but due to a singular ballot ranking Teagarden oddly high (and I mean like... really high), E.T has made his way into the Top 50 for this season. This defensive end was born in West Virginia and played his college years for TCU. This year wasn't a bad one for Teagarden by any standards, with him recording 67 tackles and amassing 8 sacks from the defensive end position. His presence in Colorado was missed as he hasn't been known to be the best team sport, but his skill shines over his blemishes.
41. (S1) K/P - Archibald Booter || New Entry - @PoloPro
Average Grade: 40.75
Rounding out the highest placement of our first segment is the first Kicker on the list. Archibald Booter had a magnificent season in Yellowknife. He spent the entirety of it both punting and kicking, using his leg constantly. Backup Ryan Ellis did replace him for one game, but that's a minor detail. Booter ran a nearly 92% extra point completion rate on kicking with his longest this year coming from the 55 (tied for league lead). In terms of punting, Booter continued to nail the ball, amassing over 4000 yards in punting posting the league record at 69 yards this season. Future soccer player? Who knows.
Average Grade: 42.5
