I’m going with the second option because what’s a trading card lol. From my understanding within the league, the reason why people take minimum contracts is to help the team, because they can accomplish everything they want to by making money through other means. There are many ways I feel to change this. This first would be to add a stricter cap on weekly earnings with media and graphics. This would reduce the amount you can make in seasonal earnings. The other would be to add more stuff to use the money on like how the card trading system works. Some of this could be more of an incentive though through furthering player development. This would attract the attention of just about everyone in this league since that is one of the top goals of the league. Compared to other things like trading cards which are mainly attracting people who like to collect and already have an influx of money to spend. Adding additional tiers to equipment will require more people to spend even more money each season to max earn and beat out their peers. This would take more money out of circulation which would directly increase the sim money value. Which in turn would make people want more money out of their contracts. I don’t think touching cap right now would be a good idea. The reason GM’s and teams push for minimum contracts is to leave more cap space, decreasing cap room would only increase this behavior. On the other side increasing cap room would allow for contracts to be handed out left and right creating a new minimum and devaluing the sim dollar. You could also just increase the minimum contract amount which would directly address the min contract issue.
