One player that I believe flew under the radar and will break out and make some noise has to be Alex Hansen of the Yellowknife Wraiths. He is one of the few hard hitting, big play making safeties in the league. He is one of the reasons the secondary in Yellowknife looks as good as it does. He flies under the radar, doesn’t draw attention to himself, he puts in his work every week, and man oh man can he lay the hits out. One of the strongest safeties in the league, wide receivers think twice when making a cross route through the middle of the field. Don’t forget about his speed either! He isn’t the fastest guy in the league, but he is not the slowest, and he has an eye for the ball. He didn’t have the interceptions that other safeties had, but man he was there on every play, racking up a total of 74 tackles in season one. This is one man that you do not want to sleep on this year, and I would go as far as to say he might as well be Safety of the year in season 2. This is one tough guy and he will only continue to improve.
