Season two’s breakout player is going to be none other than the 8th overall pick, offensive tackle Micah Hendrix. The offensive lineman came out of nowhere this offseason to become a first round pick. His play at the University of Miami went largely unnoticed until late in the draft process. Hendrix was not even invited to the NSFL Combine. Despite this, the expansion Philadelphia Liberty felt what he showed in his limited sample size was worth trading up, back into the first round, to secure his talent. If the early returns are an example of what's to come, it is safe to say the Liberty’s gamble will pay off huge. Hendrix has been a cornerstone of the developing locker room. He’s also played great as the leader of the offensive line. One of his key roles this season will not be seen on the stat sheet though. Hendrix is going to be in charge of keeping the Philadelphia Liberty’s rag tag group of offensive lineman working together. The offensive line is made up of 3 rookies, 1 WR converted to OL, and a waiver claim. This will be no easy task, but one that Hendrix is already taking head on. The NSFL players selected an offensive lineman, Angus Winchester, as the season one MVP. With the precedent set, Hendrix certainly has the pedigree and work ethic to become the next offensive lineman to win MVP.
