That said, what is the goal here? If elite players, who generally stick around more and have more knowledge of the community, are suddenly paid upwards of 10M, why would they write articles? You have less incentive to do anything to generate content for the community, because you don't need the money. I would argue that we don't want anyone to have a high salary, exactly because it forces people to generate content for the community to enjoy.
And why would we pay rookies less? "Hey new guy, welcome to the community. We don't pay new people anything, so you'll be making articles and graphics constantly to afford equipment while the elite look down, judging. Wait! Come back! I swear, this is fun!"
