Halfway through the first DDSPF 21 season and some award races are already decided and others are going to go down to the very last week. For QB of the year, it's a two horse race between Colby Jack and Ben Sloethiberger. No other quarterbacks has the efficiency and volume combination these two have so far. But at this point, Jack would get the nod because he's elevating all of his teammates despite playing with a few semi-active players on offense.
Guys like Charlemagne Cortez and George O'Donnell will lose votes because of how potent their rushing attacks are. Both Baby Yoda and Tastu Nakumara are at the forefront of the RBoTY race. It's no coincide that the 3 best teams have the three best running backs(Sarasota and Rapthalia Chan are also in this conversation) and those respective backs are having phenomenal seasons. I'd like to applaud Yoda for not having a single fumble yet, but at this point, Nakumara is putting up some gaudy numbers(5.5 YARDS PER CARRY!!!) and should cruise to this award. Chan could bolster her case with some more receiving numbers but Sarasota's deep receiver core likely won't allow it.
Speaking of receiving, the WRoTY year race will be so tight. Although William Lim as the lead in yards, Ty Hood has only 2 drops(to Lim's 5) on the season on similar volume and has 3 more TD's. There's still outside threats from Taro Raimon(no special teams), Jackson Kingston(only 3 TD's), and None Videl-San(lower catch rate).
I left Ed Barker off because he likely will get overshadowed by his teammate, Austin McCormick, who is leading the pack for the Tight End of the Year award along with James Angler. The two once again put up the raw numbers to overshadow everyone else, however Zee Rechs and Rangor Krashwagen have darkhorse opportunities to land the upset if their respective teams can finish high in the standings as both have been critical to their respective offenses.
I'm not doing defense cause I need my player to get his stats up again, but I'll sign off with this: Sam Sidekick is the only kicker that hasnt missed and I believe Silver Banana leads in coffin corners. ad Net Average per punt.
