One game in particular stands out to me this season and it was a performance for the record books. Remus “The Rocketman” Roman stepped onto the field in Week 8 and was already having a solid season. Prior to this game, Remus had a very good ypc average and was off to a great start in touchdowns. He was even producing in the passing game well for a rookie splitting carries with a veteran back. Roman’s first carry from the line of scrimmage came and he cut back and raced down the sideline for 87 yards for the first touchdown of the game. 7-0 good guys. Kansas City answered with a short touchdown run of their own 5 minutes later making it 7 - 7. Remus took offense to this it seemed and broke off his second run of the game for 54 yards and another touchdown. At this point over 100 yards on two carries with 2 touchdowns, our entire locker room was going crazy and energy was high. End of the quarter came and Xander Creed busted it up the middle for a short touchdown run to tie the game 14-14 with three seconds left in the first quarter (YES ONLY THE FIRST QUARTER). Not long into the second quarter, Remus was give the ball again and again he gashed the Coyotes defense for another 89 yard touchdown to put us up 21-14. Into the second half we went and it was a remarkably quiet quarter outside of Cade York kicking a short field goal to put us up 24-14. In the fourth quarter however, Remus got another couple of carries and again ripped off large gains topping out at 269 yards and 3 touchdowns. The Coyotes ended up making it close with a short touchdown pass at the start of the fourth quarter, but overall, Roman’s record setting day paced us to a clutch win on the day. I can’t say enough about Roman’s performance throughout the year as a rookie. Going into the next year, Remus should be set to break more records and continue to tote the rock like a man possessed.
