Chet was drafted to the Baltimore Hawks at the top of the third round, as the 4th LB drafted, the second to Baltimore that season. As a waiver create I was obviously about 60-80 tpe behind some of my fellow LBs in the draft, but frankly. I was more than a. Little disappointed, I think in my heart of hearts I see myself has a second rounder type player and then to not only be one of the last LBs taken this draft, let alone my own new team, it just made it a bit sour.
Then there was the destination. I am going to be honest I didn't expect to be drafted to Baltimore. Three seasons on I am incredibly happy there so I am glad that I was drafted there. But it wasn't always the case. And it is never that fun to be drafted to a team that didn't really scout you, not a team that had a very poor reputation at the time. That sense of hollowness around my destination was only further soured when I saw that some of my favourite hopeful destinations, no only passed on me twice but in one instance picked another LB ahead of me.
All this was of course poorly tempered by the extremely kind word said by some of the GMs on the stream, none of which I have followed up with or anything of course, but I also just was annoyed. So draft experience not truly amazing.
