Like you said in the prompt, there are limitless ways that someone can define success in this league, or anywhere. So you can be successful in this league in many ways. I’m a GM, so success to me, first and foremost, is to just build a good locker room where the players get along and we have some good fun. If you’re able to keep a good vibe going, even after losses, then that’s a huge sign of success as a GM in this league. Obviously there is a counterpart to this - wins. Winning an Ultimus is like the ultimate sign that your team was successful in a certain season. It would be amazing to win an Ultimus before I step down, and I’d love to be able to give that to the players, but that’s still a secondary goal to me. Maybe that’s because I’m a former DSFL GM, where the whole job is about creating a good community for new users, but that’s just my opinion! You could even define success as simply having a good draft following a disappointing season. You have to look at the bright side of things when your team isn’t in a great position to be a real contender. Above all else though, like I said, success is defined in my eyes by the community that you build.
