Douglas Quaid doesn’t get out of bed finding an extra $4 million dollars. What he would do though is take an immediate trip to Las Vegas or Atlantic City (depending on his current location) and go do some high roller gambling to try and turn that cash into significant dough. Being the caliber of man the Quaid is, let's say he turned that 4 million into 10 million. He would give back the original 4 million to the team and keep the rest. They would never know they gave him a no risk loan to go gamble. In that scenario everybody wins. On the flip side if all that 4 million turned into zero, regret would overcome Quaid. He would sign an extension with the team for a lesser amount than he otherwise would have. It would be strange to outsiders why this great player is taking such a team friendly deal, but deep down Quaid would know that he owes it to the team. At this point of Quaid’s career, he has to be thinking about life after the ISFL. He only has a few years left until he must retire from this game. Once he is done with football he’ll still be in his 30s, that’s still young. If he wants to continue living an extravagant life he has to multiply the millions he already has, even if it’s as high risk as gambling. (236 words)
