12. Choose a team or player to write about that isn’t your own. What did they do well in the last season? Have they shown any drastic improvements from previous years? What could they do better?
Wew alright, for this Ultimus Week task, I will write about my fellow offensive linesman Dallas Fort Worth. Why? Well, because my boy Sota is an icon and deserves to be praised. And honestly it was the first name that I though about, so why not?
Alright, so honestly, when Dallas Fort Worth was selected by the Kansas City Coyotes (Go Coyotes Pogyote Beegyote!), it was very exciting for Beeg Beeg Yoshi because they probably instantly clicked at the Developmental Simulation Football League combine, and so when the news came out that they would be teammates, I bet there would have been a lot of party rocking ahead of it.
Plus, same position? And there are lot of offensive linesmen so the goal would've been to succeed together and flip a ton of pancakes, because apparently that is something that offensive linesman want to get? I mean, pancakes are awesome, so I am all for it.
So yeah, Dallas Fort Worth had himself quite the season, with plenty of pancakes for everyone. 66 pancakes sounds like a fairly high number of pancakes, and I am certain that all that would be needed is some syrup on top.
Has Dallas Fort Worth made tremendous improvement compared to his past seasons in the Developmental Simulation Foot Ball League? Unfortunately, it is virtually impossible to measure this metric. Why? Because it was Dallas Fort Worth's rookie season! Therefore, it would have been impossible to measure how he did compared to prior seasons (I mean, if we really wanted to out of formality, he did pretty good! Can't beat going from having zero stats to having some stats!)
Again, what Dallas Fort Worth really did well was acquire a lot of pancakes, flipping a ton of those. Very recently, I learned that a pancake was actually the term used to describe creating a block. It is often used by offensive linemen and their coaches to describe a block that leaves a defensive player flat on his back, creating a gaping hole for a ballcarrier to run through. Dallas Fort Worth got a lot of those, so you could truthfully say that he had a really really damn good season.
I think one thing that Dallas Fort Worth can do to improve is to get even more pancakes next season. I don't know if 100 pancakes is feasible, but that might be a nice target to go for. Why not? Sky's the limit.
25. Imagine your current position was not available to be picked when you created your player. What other position would you have picked, and why?
You know, that is a really, really, good question. Honestly, I do not know, since I had my eye set on making an offensive linesman once I heard that it wasn't as demanding of a position for TPE earning, since I honestly had my doubts that I could max earn with already being in the SHL and the PBE, where I'm trying to max earn in both (nevermind the fact that I am greatly failing at earning in PBE. sad.)
I will say though, I made my ISFL forum account way back last year quite halfheartedly. I initially was thinking about making a punter/kicker simply for the heck of it. I mean, hey, why not right? Special teams seems kinda neat and I didn't want to take on one of those big positions in the first place, especially since I was uncertain about my earning capabilities (even back then, when I was only in the SHL at that point).
So yeah, honestly assuming that we were full on offensive linesmen creates, I probably would have made a punter/kicker. Fun fact, I came within inches from making a player, but then went to the player creation page and said "too hard" and dipped. But now I am back!
26. Football is a game that has been going on for a while, loved by fans all over. But what if you were able to make some rule changes? Talk us through your new version of football, and what would be different and why?
WE. NEED. MORE. KICKING.
I don't get why it's called football when the only time there's kicks is for extra point attempt, a field goal attempt, or a punt. or kickoff i guess. or onside kick.
Okay, there's a lot of kicking in football in retrospect. However, that does not necessarily mean that there is enough. So, what do I suggest then?
Honestly, I don't know lol. It would be kinda hard honestly to kick instead of throw, but I think it's mainly because it would take a lot of getting used to. Could you imagine kicking the football to a receiver lol.
Besides that, what else could be done? I think lesser downs could make it more interesting. Far more strategy with each play. For example, Canadian Football is played with three downs instead of four, and honestly I think that's really interesting to compare it to American Football.
Although, I will say, it definitely feels like football is a nicely and greatly developed sport with plenty of rules and everything being just right. Well, maybe that's because everyone is used to the rules that the game plays under, but I still can't think of anything egregious that they really need to change to the game of football and its rules.
