For this PT I will be creating my defensive team of the first 7 games. It will be 100% scientific and irrefutable, so I don't want to see any of you out here trying to catch me out on Twitter, alright?
DE: Medicinal Toblerone @JuOSu
DE: Raylan Crowder @Asked Madden
DT: Chuck Roth @zeagle1
Starting off with the defensive line, we've got three players that all fit the mold I'm looking for with this 3-4 defense I'm setting up. These players are all versatile playmakers, both getting sacks, forcing fumbles, and getting to ball carriers behind the line of scrimmage. In the 3-4 defense, you need strong interior DL to hold down the middle and slow down the running game, and these three have been the best at that so far.
LB: Gary Goodman @"ShnarlyDude"
LB: Xavier Walls @xtitanxmvpx
LB: Guy Fields @r0tzbua
LB: Rusty Rucker @LancedJack
This defense I'm setting up relies on the Linebackers to be the big playmakers, so why not grab the four LBs who have been making the biggest impact so far this season? Walls and Goodman lead the league in sacks, with 8 and 9, respectively. Walls has also pitched in 3 TFLs and both have forced 2 fumbles on the year. Goodman also has notched three interceptions this season so far.
Not to be outdone, Fields has tallied 7 sacks along with 2 FF/2FR, 2 INTs, a safety AND a Defensive TD.
While Rucker might not have the same sack numbers as the other three, he still is fourth in the league in tackles, has pulled in 4 TFLs and forced an insane 5 fumbles so far this season.
CB: Willie Miller @Sebster
CB: Rich Triplet @Kotasa
NB: Cedric Wilkins II @woelkers
FS: Dogwood Maple @dogwoodmaple
SS: Amari Springer @Dagumpa
Defensive backs need to be playmakers at all different levels of the field. At CB we have two of the best right now, Miller and Triplet. Miller is on pace for a CB of the Year award with his league-leading 4 INTs and 22 PDs, not to mention his one DTD. Triplet is tied in for second in the league with 3 INTs but has also forced and recovered two fumbles.
Wilkins II has been an impact player out of the slot, with 5 sacks (by far the most by a CB) and one safety. He's also only allowing a ridiculous 40% of passes in his direction to be completed.
Maple and Springer have both been impact players in the secondary all season and will keep any defense from creating big plays.
