Prompt 26: New Rules
The NFL has several areas where new rules would improve the game from a safety standpoint, fairness standpoint, and an entertainment standpoint. The first thing I would change would be kickoff. The kickoff has proven to be the most dangerous aspect of the sport and is very uneventful as Jon Bois has pointed out. I would personally replace it with the solution the AAF implemented, where after scoring a team can try to convert a 4th and 12 at their own 25 to keep the ball. I would however remove the limit the AAF had where it could only be in the final four minutes or if the team attempting the 4th and 12 is down at least 16 points. Another thing I would change (depending on if the refs decide to not be power-tripping dorks) would be to add a skyjudge like the AAF, along more types of reviews allowed. DPI should be allowed to be reversed and the increase in reviews expected shouldn't increase game time with the skyjudge in place.
Prompt 29: Awards Voting
In the past for the ISFL, awards and who won them have become somewhat controversial. In an effort to change this I believe implementing the voting method the NHL uses for their awards would be best. In the NHL, instead of simply voting for whom you think, should win the award (1st place), you vote for your 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th place for each award. These are weighted different obviously (1st-10pts, 2nd-7pts, 3rd-5pts, 4th-3pts, 5th-1pt). This makes a player not getting a 1st place vote less damaging as they are still awarded points, where in the NFL and ISFL you either get an MVP vote or you don't. This voting method also allows players otherwise not in contention for the MVP award. An example for this would be in the 2021 NFL MVP voting Cooper Kupp only got one vote due to the current voting method. If the NFL used my proposal Kupp would likely be much closer to Rodgers and Brady in terms of voting.
