Jason Oexius was always considered a team player at UW, but his success and likeability often irked his teammate and best friend Johnny Appleseed. They were both defensive backs for the badgers and even when Johnny had some of his best games, somehow Jason still performed better. During this week's game a poor pass was thrown right in Oex’s direction. He reached up for what seemed like a surefire interception until suddenly Johnny came out of nowhere and slammed Jason in an attempt to pick off the pass himself. Johnny was reamed by their defensive coordinator and benched for the rest of the game. Once both players had entered the locker room after the game Johnny immediately pushed Jason into one of the lockers. Of course, Jason did not want to take that lightly, he pushed back. A few cuts and bruises later the rest of the team managed to rip the two apart from each other. With one last snarling glare Johnny said, “because of you I'll never make the pros.” Oexius disagreed. He felt like he had worked hard to get where he is today, however he couldn’t help but feel guilty for potentially holding his best friend back from being the best that he could be. With those thoughts in his mind, Jason has a tough decision to make: Finish his senior year and risk hurting his friend, or leave and risk never making it to the pros himself. After a couple of hours Jason decided to stick to what he does best, and that's playing football, with the hopes that his friend will support him wholeheartedly instead of becoming his enemy.
