Now, I am a rookie so it does seem a little bit meta (no offense to Mark Zuckerberg) posting in a thread about pranking rookies. However, in my week in the Bondi Beach locker room, I have already fallen victim to a prank. Not long after landing in Bondi, I took a trip to the facilities to get acquainted with the team. I met with GM Glims and Captain Kevin McThumpter and gave myself a tour of the locker room. As I approached the doors, I heard a noise, no, multiple noises. I looked through the glass in the doors and saw pitch black apart from a group of scantily clad men kneeling in a circle around a stake with a sign that said "Fire Glims" on it. They kept chanting that very phrase. I was taken aback. What kind of team is this? I just met Glims; he seems like a cool guy. Wait, is that Kevin? I literally just talked to him on the other side of the facility. How did he make it over here so fast? That literally makes no sense. Then again, nothing made sense that day. As I opened the doors and approached this shindig of sorts, I noticed a fellow rookie on the other side of the locker room with a look just as shocked as my own. Our eyes met and we stood there petrified of what we had just stumbled upon. Then, another rookie walked in. And another. Soon all of the rookies were in the locker room: deathly silent. Once we were near, the "Fire Glims" chant got louder and louder until..."Welcome to Bondi rookies!!!" The vets burst into laughter. The lights suddenly turned on. Us rookies just stood there, still uneasy. We had been pranked. Fast forward to the present and "Fire Glims" chants are a daily occurrence except for this time all of us say it (while fully dressed).
