The Butchers only have one strategy for keeping our emotional and mechanical discipline and that is harsh punishment. As the defensive captain of the team, I see too it personally that for every penalty or mistake that is made in practice or in a game that player will pay dearly for it. My punishments put Coach Boones from Remember The Titans to shame. He famously said "you drop a pass, you run a mile. You miss a blocking assignment, you run a mile. You fumble the football, and I will break my foot off in your..." well, not only will you be running a mile if you do any of those things, you will also have to pay a hefty fine into the Charity bank (to hit our players in the pockets). The twist that I put on my punishment, though, to make sure that our players stay emotionally and mechanically disciplined is that I make them run something like the "milk jug mile". Every penalty or missed assignment a player has they have to chug a glass of milk before their mile, turnovers are a half gallon, and anything I think is worse gets the full gallon. After one or two runs our players often realize it is better to do things the right way than puke milk allover themselves.
