If you have been watching the San Jose Sabercats this season, you would be aware that behavior control is not something they have specialized in. The team has lost many games due to poor on the field behavior leading to an excess of penalties called. The reason for this behavior could easily stem from the locker room in San Jose which seems to have become toxic in this recent season. The main reason behind this toxicity, it is none other than Booter McGavin. McGavin has creatd a me first atmosphere in the locker room that has taken away the team responsibility that San Jose coaches had worked so hard to build in the past seasons. McGavin promotes heavy taunting by his teammates and celebration of some of the smallest accomplishments. For example, after making his first field goal, McGavin took the first down marker and put it between his legs in a "riding the bull" celebration. It is clear that the immature McGavin has rubbed off on his team and San Jose will need to do everything in their power to fix the issues they are having with penalties this season.
