After a season full of fourth quarter penalties, the London Royals this year have introduced a new system of instilling discipline in the players. After watching several youtube videos about negative reinforcement in rats using electrical shock, GM Alikh had shock collars installed in the shoulder pads for all Royals. Now, he sits on the sideline during practice and when a player jumps the line, pushes off a defender, grabs a facemask, etc., he presses the button to shock that player. It is a complicated process to make sure you select the right player and button, so a local high school technology club actually put together a massive board full of buttons for Alikh to man during scrimmages. The new shock penalty system has worked amazingly well- in fact the Royals at practice now commit near zero penalties. Next rules summit, Alikh hopes to bring this system to a vote, allowing him to wire up his team for real games as well.
