There are a lot of ways to prepare yourself and for the team to prepare to always be emotionally and mechanically disciplined. Mental preparation is the most important thing when it comes to emotional and mechanical discipline. One thing the Austin Copperheads do is game day preparation. Who knows how to get under your skin than your own teammates and coaching staff. We go through game day scenarios, stressful ones, ones where the offense or defense can taunt, trash talk, coaches yelling etc. you have to learn discipline to not let you emotions get the best of you. If anyone reacts causing what would be a penalty in a real game, the whole side of the ball runs suicides, except for the person who caused the penalty, they get to sit a watch. This type of training also helps mechanical discipline. The most important thing there is a practice, practice, practice. You have to get to the point where you do even have to think about your responsibilities.
