this offseason was pretty similar to all the others Buster has had during his career in San Jose. He went back home to Idaho to visit family and help on the farm. His parents are getting older and they remain stubborn, especially Russet's father. he's adamant he doesn't need any permanent help tending the crops, but Russet knows better. Buster also volunteered at a local youth facility and ran a minicamp for some of the area athletes looking to take their game to the next level. After a month or so back in Idaho, it was time for Russet to connect with some teammates for workouts before they all returned to San Jose for official training. He caught up with Brooks Piggott and the 2 of them sharpened each other. Russet is hoping to pass the torch as leader of the secondary on to young Brooks, as Buster is getting ever closer to retirement.
