Damien West recently was seen at the Indianapolis Colts training camp. Word is the team was looking for a receiver to pair with TY Hilton to give Andrew Luck some more weapons. West conveniently has a very similar play style and they wanted to try him out.
Their was no promise in a starting role and it was all dependent on West's performance and how well he connected with Andrew Luck.
Maybe it was nerves but West looked terrible out there dropping a lot of passes and unable to shake off Colts defenders and get open. He never really connected with Luck and the team told him at best he'd be able to be on the practice squad.
He was able to make a couple big plays based on his raw speed but it didn't impress Coach Pagano nor did it do much for Andrew Luck.
West wasn't willing to take that sort of risk to maybe earn a bigger paycheck and promptly returned to Yellowknife despite his despise of the cold weather there.
"The experience was neat. I wish I could have done better but I feel like I belong in the NSFL where I am currently making money," West said.
West has seen his value drop immensely since being a first round pick in the Inaugural Draft. He's become a slot receiver even though he still has the Vertical potential due to his raw speed.
