When it comes to playing on defense, I think I'd be best as a free safety. I've got prototypical size to be a ball hawk back there and my agility and speed would make me a natural. I also don't shy away from contact, which is crucial for running the lanes and making tackles in space. You have to also be able to read routes and quickly digest what the offense is doing, which also perfectly fits my skillset. Some of my decision to play safety as my dual threat position is by process of elimination, as I would get eaten alive on the defensive line or as a linebacker and I don't think I have quite the hip mobility to be a lockdown corner. But it just seems right that physically, mentally, and psychologically I'd be back there as a pseudo Ed Reed, chasing down overthrows and commanding the defense. It's a lot to take in to play that position well but I have no doubt I would excel.
