Born to lead. Adolin reflects on that thought frequently, these days. Most people, I should think, look at Colorado and think that Willeh Strong is the leader of the Yeti defense. And, to be clear, they would mostly be right. Willeh is certainly the most prominent of the players, of the young blood and the... secretly not-so-young blood alike. He is, without a doubt, the face, if not the heart and soul as well, of a team that's trying desperately to claw its way back to relevance.
And that suits Adolin just fine. He's already given up the glory once before; he can do it again and again, if he needs to. Secretly, he's somewhat glad for the younger man's presence, for his innate gravitation towards being the "Strong"est player on one of the weakest teams.
Because Willeh may be the heart and the soul of the defense, but Adolin is the brains. Not a king; never a king. But a battlefield commander is more fitting anyhow.
