There are a number of blatant examples of terrible trades throughout the history of the ISFL and DSFL, but there's one that hits a bit close to home. When I entered the league, there was an easy choice for the worst team in the DSFL, as they finished last the season before and generally weren't that great for the previous season. This was the Pythons, who I'm talking about due to a specific trade they made during the S22 DSFL draft.
That draft is something we probably will never see again, considering just how many people were in the draft. It was late, the Pythons GMs were tired, and so they decided to pull off a trade. This trade is in my opinion the least reasonable trade in the history of the entire league. The Pythons got pick 193, Dallas' pick in Round 25, and in exchange, the Dallas Birddogs got...
Gimmy Jarropolo, along with every single Pythons pick between rounds 19 and 24. The Birddogs got to trade 6 picks for 1 pick, lower than all the other picks, along with a meme player.
The most notable names that came out of the 6 picks the Birddogs got were Colt Mendoza, AKA Steg, and Big Edd. Yeah, the Birddogs were paid by the Pythons to take, eventually, a 3 time DTOTY and a future HO member off of their hands.
Due to how the DSFL works, this didn't impact the Pythons for all too long, by the time I entered the league 3 seasons later almost nobody from Season 22 was in the DSFL. There are probably more interesting trades in terms of longer term consequences due to the nature of the DSFL, but that doesn't change that this helped make the Pythons a bit of a laughingstock in the DSFL before they got new management. Just by not making this trade the Pythons might have made the playoffs in either S23 or S24, and Dallas? ...well, they might not have made the playoffs at all until last season if not for this trade.
