7. This task is exclusive to non-recreate rookies of the S35 class and later. In 300 words or more, how has your experience been in the league? Who have you met that has made your time here more fun, friendly, and exciting? Have you been satisfied with your player’s early start? What was it like being drafted for the first time? Do you have any comments or suggestions for the entire league that you think should be implemented?

How has your experience been in the league?
Building a player is a lot of fun. I love being able to come up with a mythology and persona for my player with very limited rails. Other players in the community are friendly; I like the unique collective personality shared by ISFL members. ISFL Twitter is a fun ride.
There’s a lot to experience across all the servers and the forums, so it can be a bit overwhelming at times. All the same, I’m happy to have found ISFL. Never thought I’d find other people interested in simulation football.
Who have you met that has made your time here more fun, friendly, and exciting?
Kotasa, Pat, Swanty, PBS, Chucky, negs, painted, Firstfray, Russ, Repgnar, slate, and basically anyone else from the Tijuana Luchadores server.
Have you been satisfied with your player’s early start?
I was stoked when I got a pancake in my first game as a RB. Same goes for my first carry. It just feels good to be involved at this point. That said, I am hoping to be more involved in the run game next season no matter which team I’m on.
What was it like being drafted for the first time?
I was signed to waivers by TIJ, and was welcomed to the team immediately. Though I’m still waiting to be drafted, it was awesome getting to hang with other Luchadores and play in a few games. The gameday experience is pretty rad when you’re all hanging in Discord together.
Do you have any comments or suggestions for the entire league that you think should be implemented?
Please standardize the infrastructure for ISFL Fantasy! Far and away that’s been the most “black box” experience I’ve had in the league thus far. I think a few extra pointers could really help newcomers get onboarded into Fantasy and increase participation.
It’d be sick to rock merch for teams. Maybe we could add that to a league office role, like someone who facilitates merch. Post a job or point task assigned to designing clothing, then launch a store where any profit goes back to the league for promo or server costs or whatever.

9. Through a random lottery drawing, you have been named the league's new commisioner for a day. Congrats! What improvements would you make to the league if you had the power to do whatever you wanted?

Ah yes, finally.. my chance to be an armchair commissioner! Alright, if I had the power to do whatever I wanted, I’d consider the following changes:
Onboarding
- Create a more comprehensive “Welcome to the League” guide
- >> Emphasize importance of selecting a position based on availability – some players created positions that were arguably oversaturated on the market, while others created QBs without realizing how much time would be required of them
- >> More clear explanation of how Weekly Training works (e.g. at what point you can use it, like when you are assigned to a team vs. being on waivers); same goes for Training Camp and Equipment
- >> Very clearly point new players to the update templates for their position, and make it clear how and when updates are used
- >> How to use bank functions in the Discord with Wolfie
- >> Example position swap scenario to illustrate how that function works, same for retirement and regression scenarios
- >> Talk more about league jobs and why they are important, as well as what level of time commitment to the league may be expected for someone who wants to serve in a role
- Consolidate welcome resources into a single location
- >> Something like Notion could better direct members of the league to various resources, without requiring them to jump across the forum to find the resources they need. This could make it easier for us to categorize resources as well
- Level-set expectations around community involvement, joining a team, and how to leverage each server
- Completely overhaul onboarding and templatize group management
- >> There is almost no information about how fantasy works, and it seems like explanation is left to group managers. Why not have the front office fantasy manager update the main post in the forum to include some basic resources and instructions? Everything is a bit scattered at the moment.
- >> I built a template that may be helpful for fantasy drafts and roster management, both across the ISFL Fantasy league and within individual groups. Located here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1...OkHn4/edit
